No, we're on the same page. I'll just put it to you this way, my mother in law is a leftist, believes she's a witch type of leftist. Father in law is a big Reagan guy. When they divorced he got full custody of my wife and her siblings for good reasons I don't really want to go into great detail about, but essentially her mother got convicted of a felony. My wife is not a fan of her mother needless to say and her dad has his shite together, so she molded her lifestyle and personal views from him more than her mother thank god.

My wife works in academia and I wish I could say it hasn't rubbed off on her but it has.
She voted 3rd party in 2016 and for Biden in 2020.
She's seen the results of voting that way now, so I'm pretty sure she's voting Trump this time, although we live in Alabama so our votes don't really count for POTUS past the primaries. She understands that and may vote 3rd party again just so she can say she never voted for Trump.

Yup. She has no inclination whatsoever to be persuaded by logic, common sense, or facts. She's going to vote for Kamala even if it means we end up losing most of our retirement savings.
She believes every single lie that has ever been told about Trump and to this day believes he is a Russian asset and is best buddies with Putin.

My wife moved here from Australia in 2017. She's definitely not that political, but she has been floored by how much prices on everything has gone up since Biden/Harris took office. She would've voted for Trump in 2020 if she had her citizenship because I was voting for him (and a lot of her family and friends that live here were voting for him), but now she's dead set on voting for Trump (she has her citizenship now). The cost difference for everything from groceries, to gas, to clothes is the one thing that really has her ready to vote.

I can’t tell you my once conservative mother was infected with TDS around 2020 ish, that said, her and my fathers relationship has taken a significant nose dive. Me and my sisters legit worry my mother may give the old man a stroke.

My wife is pretty conservative, but still votes Republican.
Posted on 8/22/24 at 2:34 pm to thadcastle
No. I would find it very difficult.
My wife may be drifting further right than me.
Her mother is to the right of Attila the Hun. I don’t mind bringing up an interesting issue or point, but once that opening is provided, she gets on a roll!

We have different political views. I am a conservative Trump supporter. She is waaay more right wing than me.

You sure we're not the same person?

I am a moderate conservative and she is a moderate liberal. Neither of us are particularly political. We get along just fine.
