The FBI started as the federal police, but Hoover was more interested in black mailing Congress so it's roots are in black mail. They have been better trying to live up to their "reputation" but that ship has sailed.

To answer OP, I have no faith in the fed gov, period. Haven't since about 2008. Not a single agency, not a single branch, not a single program of the fed gov do I have faith in.

They are the worst corruption in Government given the fact they can arrest you frame you and put you in Federal prison at their whelm. Helped by a corrupt Judiciary system it is scary AF.

Even just if they say you lied to them…..arrest. Lying’s a damn right as far as I’m concerned. Lol. It’s a last line of defense in seeking to protect your damn self. And I’m not sure there’s really anyone they can’t arrest at least in this country, save for perhaps diplomatic immunity situations. But they can arrest a CIA officer even, ostensibly, and that ability is not reciprocal. So on that count, they can exert that authority over the array of intelligence officers of various agencies, military personnel, etc etc. But who arrests them??

My money is on the latter. And this is another indication that the People in this country did NOT vote Trump out by 25,000 total votes in swing states out of 160,000,000 votes.

Power corrupts. The Government is now focused on saving 'itself', as being morally and practically necessary and an altruistic servant of 'the people'.
Total crash and reboot is the only way out of this. And the reboot will be established via the wisdom and vision of the survivors of said crash. And Jesus' assistance, IMO, as Humanity is up against Powers far beyond our own ability to discern and control. "We have met the enemy, and it is us".
