The Middle East would like a word. I think Russia might want to be part of that conversation as well.

Why?

Commodity dependence typically prevents developing countries from the proper Western culture path. A primary reason why the ME and Russia are largely shitholes is because of their petro reserves.

You going for one of your 20 page "it depends on the definition of 'is'" topics? I'll pass.

I literally brought up commodity dependence in my first post ITT

Western culture relying heavily on petro has nothing to do with mono-exports of natural resources, which tend to thwart Western cultural development.

Western societies have no moral issues purchasing these mono-products from non-Western, despotic regimes

Day by day we are finding out that no, we don’t have magic soil or magic anything. We had a people and a set of beliefs.
That’s gone now. And our rights are being decided by 9 people in robes who will all be “progressive” within a generation.

I was at a local Festival the other day and a Black guy was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with "Normal isn't coming back. Jesus is". Dude got a lot of smiles and high fives.

Soil is a key to our success. The US has more fertile topsoil than any other country...and it ain't close. It's due to our very short history of plowing. The Indians didn't know how to plow.
Other countries have been tilling their soil for 1,000s of years and it's worn out.

How are you going to raise the collective IQ of Haiti or SS Africa?

The things that you said are required will never happen if they are left to themselves. You’d have to re-colonize and rule with an iron but benevolent fist.

Western culture now lacks the self-respect to take on such a project. The Eastern mind wouldn’t see the point in it.

Not to mention that the ruling ethos in the West flatly denies (pretends to, at least) the importance of intelligence, somehow believing in evolution for everything except the brain.

Follow the path of other low-IQ countries who developed, like Taiwan...or a more contemporary example: Botswana.

Is there something magical about our dirt? That countries like Haiti, Guatemala, Syria, and Zimbabwe do not have access to?

Founded by Protestants from the British Isles(England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland) then to a lesser extent Germany, France, and the Netherlands who were industrious people who hated monarchy.

That is our core, our magic soil to say and it has been eroding for over 100 years.

Correct.

A lot of the success of western culture is due to worldview. This is antecedent to the DoI and COTUS.

"IQ and Christianity are what has made America great, and there's no way to dispute that"

I would not dispute either because both are factors, but I would dispute that it is even close to as simple as your formulation.

Christianity is critical because Christianity had such a huge part in the Western worldview. It remains important even today when religion is in decline in the West because the Western values we take for granted are grounded so firmly in and flow from Christianity. But Christianity itself is not alone responsible for flourishing or (lower-case) enlightenment. Muslim and some Eastern nations/peoples far outpaced Christendom for hundreds of years, and the leading civilizations of antiquity were typically polytheistic. The Enlightenment, which owes much to Christianity, is more directly responsible for the development of our institutions, with both Enlightenment and Christian thought playing a huge part in our culture. Intelligence has tended to follow culture as learning and education are more prized in society over, say, family ties. This has played out time and again in world history and is playing out right now in East Asia.

On one hand the US is unique with the amount of protected ports and inland navigable waterways that we have, along with abundant natural resources.

That combined with our constitution, especially the bill of rights, as well as the ideals our country was founded on make us a superpower.

Any nation with strong free trade and a capitalist economy will be, at the very least, an ok place to live.
