10 yrs. is a long time in these circumstances. Just the fact that both sides are now extreme, bodes trouble. Minus Trump pulling a win and cleaning out the Deep State, rising violent conflict between extreme poles will be trouble.

I think there’s a difference between moderate or center and undecided voter. I’m “moderate” in the sense that idc if two dudes wanna stuff butts and marry each other. Idc what color someone is or where they were born people should be judged off their actions and in a work setting the ability to accomplish their role efficiently and effectively. The problem is no matter how hard the left tries to inject they’re the party that embodies those ideals into the cultural zeitgeist, it’s the right who embodies those ideas of equality through action. This is all to say anyone who is moderately social should be voting Trump and isn’t undecided, and if they aren’t it indicates lack of an ability to digest information independently.

I think the center is gone. I say this as one who has always been a right leaning moderate now forced squarely into the conservative camp by the antics and policies of the left. I've never voted for a Democrat for president but have done so for Senate and House candidates when I thought they had a better platform than the Republican on the ticket. I cannot envision ever voting for a Democrat again.

How? This just isn't true at all, the right is left of where the democrats were 20 years ago, how are they extreme?

Not me. Why buy oil, a republican president, and then buy water, a dem congressman and expect a fluid mixture? Oil and water don't mix.

Once upon a time the Democrats weren't so radical and a lot of things were done with bipartisan support. Used to be a number of conservative Democrats in government.

B/c divided government brings legislation to a halt. Which isn't exactly a bad thing.

Yeah but once the dems took the reins of the abortion movement back in the 60s that was the start of the end of them being conservative. You were voting back in the 60s?

The Democrats were once the party of the working man

Today, they are the party of Identity Politics

Identity Politics is (are?) radical by definition

Ergo, the Democrats are now radical

Why do you signify just this board? Do you ever leave the house and coexist with other humans?

I'd say that the majority of Americans are actually moderate and fall along the center of the political spectrum.

The issue is that the left owns and controls most of the media and thus shapes the presented narrative of events. This is exacerbated by the for profit nature of media which results in the vast majority of presented narrative being the political extremes of each side with the left portrayed as the hero and the right portrayed as the villain.

Yes before the left was co-opted by international Bolshevists and the Chinese Communist Military dictatorship they worked together with the RINO-DEM unitary to enrich themselves and build generational wealth for their families in government.

Today's conservative would be considered liberal by the 1950's political standards.....so I would say today's conservatives are the political center.
