The average white guy in this country works 40+ hours to week to simply get by. And then he turns on the television and listens to millionaire coaches, athletes and media pundits, who all have infinitely larger platforms and bank accounts, insinuate that he is privileged for something he has zero control over: his skin color.

You know how you actually radicalize a group of people? You shame them and guilt them until their hatred boils over. The mentality that you defend and perpetuate is the quickest way to radicalize the apathetic into actual white supremacists.

When is the black community going to hold themselves accountable for anything? Everything isn't always someone else's fault.

You say this as you part of the White community dodge responsibility of our country's terrible past?

How about you look in the mirror?

This is literally the fault of the people who enslaved them, then when they were freed found legislative ways to incarcerate them for free labour, then those who dodged that had their communities destroyed, were rejected for financing their businesses, their homes and weren't hired for work.

It is only in the last decade and a half thinga have actually gotten better.

If someone does that to you and your family, you would be no different and you wouldn't be happy about it. Rightfully so.

The gall of someone who LITERALLY MADE MILLIONS throughout his life PLAYING AND COACHING A frickING GAME and lives in a frickING MANSION to say this inane crap is so insane. Barring the submission of further evidence, find it hilarious and simultaneously tragic these people stump for rapists, drunkards, junkies, and criminal thugs who cause their deaths with their interactions with law enforcement, not sure how that helps the argument for “black lives matter” and “police reform” and all that.

If you think America is so terrible, pack your shite and leave. No one alive today has ever been a slave or a slave master. Stop carrying dead peoples' baggage. Matter of fact, stop blaming other people for not carrying it.

Next time just say you’re not interested in having a fact-based, rational conversation.

I legitimately saw people rationalize on this forum why Dylann Roof shot 9 Christians who took him in, fed him and treated him Christ-like.

I'm going to have to see proof of that.

There is nothing that can be done about people owning slaves 160 years ago. You can't change or erase history.

I didn't own a slave. I don't know anyone who has ever owned a slave. I don't know anyone who has ever been a slave. I will not apologize for something I didn't do.

The average black guys does the same thing; work 40+ hours a week to simply get by..

Yet when they turn on the television and see billionaire white owners insinuate racism isn't our reality because some millionaire athelte they don't know is getting paid because he's a great asset for the billionaire owner... he is confused, angry and feels hated.

Why shouldn't he?

No. This my country and you don't have the right to tell me what to do.

If you don't like or can't deal with the sins of this country's past being revisited then maybe you should take your own advice, snowflake.

I am, generally speaking, very left-wing, especially by the standards of this forum: I completely agree with you.

Identity politics are going to tear this country apart, man.

my theory is that when left-wing politicians and leaders can't win political battles (because their constituents are less valuable to them than their PAC corporate donors), they have to settle for cultural battles.

it's a shame man.

People are using slavery (abolished 157 years ago) as an excuse to burn businesses, steal, and murder and they have the fricking audacity to think there should be no punishment. This dipshit in Wisconsin is a career criminal, and it is his own fault that he was shot. Why? He didn't obey police orders, reached for a gun, and was probably high out of his mind.

Not agreeing with the police is fine and it is your right. Fight them in court, not on the street.

I'm literally the only one discussing facts.

The rest of these responses have been emotional ones where people want the past ignored because it makes them feel uncomfortable.

You can't ignore the past; it's literally why we are in this present climate.

This is why BS like the GI Bill happens and everyone looks the other way. That wasn't slavery, that is the modern America legislative system at work. It has only been the past two decades that evil crap like this has slowly began to be rolled back.

Hey, it was just a suggestion, if you think this country is so terrible why are you still here? They aren't my sins, I carry no responsibility or guilt for things that happened decades ago and I had no part in. What have you done to atone for your part in these sins? Be specific.

He literally has that exact right.

The fact that you refuse to leave a place you claim is so terrible can only mean 1 of 2 things:

1. You don’t really think it’s as bad as you claim, or

2. You’re content with settling for mediocrity because you know you can’t do any better.

Which is it? And if #2, is your entire life as mediocre as you portray it to be on here?

I'd say it's the exact opposite Doc, as it seems no one cares when I white person is killed by police. When a black person is it makes national news nonstop.
