Do people not understand that when athletes and celebrities refer to "we" in these situations they are referring to their collective race and not themselves as individuals?

I'm not saying Doc is right or wrong here, but why does this board insist on misrepresenting the argument? They aren't speaking out for themselves, they are speaking out for their collective race.

If Mark Cuban were to come out and say "This country doesn't support Americans who work" - no one on here would say "Oh your billions of dollars aren't enough Mark?!"

It's weird.

Y’all really lose your shite every time a black man expresses an opinion that isn’t yours.

Because it’s been happening for a long time. This shite is getting nauseating.

I know that.... Is he (and the rest of the NBA and sports in general) not a good counterexample to "not being loved"??

Don’t be disingenuous. This board rails on Steve Kerr and Pop just as much for the same opinions. It’s the opinion the board hates not who it comes from

I think what people are implying is that if this country had active ill intent towards black people then it’s a bit strange that we have entities that exist in which black people can go out and disproportionately earn more money in a year than just about everyone here will earn in their entire working life.

And maybe that whole thought isn’t expressed when they make the short one line quip, but that’s my interpretation of what is being said.

It’s okay. Mark Cuban is white.

You can agree with him or not and that is perfectly reasonable either way. But just because he is a millionaire coach doesn’t mean he can’t feel a certain way about an issue

I feel like someone gave you monochrome glasses, because you only see the world in terms of black and white.

I enjoy sports, but at this point I would honestly be okay if they all ceased to exist and these people had to get real jobs. I'd love to go see Doc working at the local H&R Block feeling the crunch around April.

I honestly think that’s more shite talk than racism but the reality is if the roles were reversed it would be nationally publicized and more heavily scrutinized.

He's so often reminded of his color?

Dude, you're a coach in the NBA. You're the majority. Poor Luka, he's treated like trash. I bet he's reminded that he's a bitch arse white boy everyday.

Yea like someone with those kinda leadership and organizational skills would be working at some H&R block or something

As if a coach who manages 10-15 millionaires many who earn more than him would have trouble managing in the “real world”
