Do you think it would be wise or ultimately counter productive (for Republicans to maintain power in the following elections) if Trump were to see politicians and government officials charged, tried, convicted, and given the harshest possible sentence for treason?

How do you deter people in the future from doing the same things if you dont go all the way and enforce the whole law?

I don't want charges. I want the truth. The left cannot handle the truth.
The truth will set this nation free once again! That's what I want.

We need a return to the real values of this nation.
The standard of protecting our form of government from traitors within the government should always be held higher than anything else.
Hang the guilty from a tree and the rest will think twice before fricking over the American people next time.
I don't care what they call Trump, the lesson and message will be out there.
America has grown too soft.

How are we defining “treason”?

Since we are not in a declared war the definination in the Constitution of Treason isn't applicable. HOWEVER there are a bunch of other charges that can be used, like Sedition.

Everyone that broke the law should be charged to the max. No slapping on the wrist like he did Hilary.

There appears to be plenty of whistleblower information.
Get some of the lower staffers to flip by offering them immunity, and I'd be willing to bet that you could get a slew of convictions by way of plea deals.

The old saying...

Fool me once, shame on you.

But screw me twice, shame on me.

Maybe guys like Bannon, Stone and Navarro should weigh in on the fairness of who they go after.

Meanwhile, Fani Willis is being looked at in Georgia for textbook embezzlement.

The situation in New York needs to first be overturned...

The traitors no longer control social media like they did, and what's left of their power in the MSM dwindles and will continue to as the WH sidelines the corrupt establishment. The traitors won't have control of the narrative anymore. And when Trump calls that special message to the country or announces it in a SOTU address along with the irrefutable facts and whistleblowers, people won't mind him cleaning house. And if there is one person in politics that has shown to follow the Constitution and an unwillingness to play the poltical game, it's Trump. He'll happily step down after his third term is complete.

I'd love to see it, but worry the "dictator" melts might actually hurt us.

It would. But there’s also the fact that these same people are going to melt anyway. I think we need to be very careful with the precedents we set. Throwing the first punch does not guarantee victory- it only guarantees a fight. I’m not saying we shouldn’t throw that punch. I’m saying we’d better be able to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that it is necessary. That said, I do believe that those conditions exist, I just have doubts about the majority of our elected representatives’ ability and/or willingness to bring it to fruition.

Also, we live in a society where perception is truth, and while waning, leftist ideology is still a pervasive cancer in this country. Until the cancer is removed, there will be little progress, and any victory will be short lived; any ground gained will be lost. We should be careful of what vehicles we give our opposition keys to.

Think of it this way....

What they've done to Trump with Russiagate on through to Merchan and New York is what they always threaten republicans with to make them fall in line and convert them to Uniparty.... at our expense.

The only difference is Trump didn't fall in line so they pulled the trigger, literally, on everything they have.

So if there aren't people going to pound me in the arse prison, at least, they will go right back to doing the same thing to the next 5 generations of republican and Uniparty will rule again.

Being a politician and being against Trump.....although the Trumpkins will deny it.

Judging by my downvotes, just asking the question is enough, too.

Nah. It's the stupid act.

The pearl clutching on J6 lead to 4 years of witch hunts which included a few states trying to pile on. All of those shenanigans were revealed and here you are going "what treason?"

We can't allow a COUP/Treason go unpunished

This.....people should be held accountable. It will stop the majority of it going forward, it they are. Right now they can say and do anything they want, legal or not, and get away with it. There is a judge and a couple of DA's that also need prosecuted.

Yes as long as both sides of the aisle get the hammer brought down. It would be naive to think it’s only Dems. The DC rot is probably much much deeper than any of us think.

Its absolutely both sides.

The only way forward for the country is to fairly prosecute all of it. Right or left. Friend or foe.

If you do that, it’s one of the only ways we restore anything resembling trust in institutions… but you have to simply follow the truth and the law.

They have to be charged. If nothing ever happens then it just reverts back to the same shite when Trump leaves.

Id say put them on trial and then depending on the mood of the electorate maybe pardon some at the end of his term if he wants to be noble
