re: Do anti-vaxers who seem to cherish the thought of complications realize what that means?

You seriously think our current inflation is caused by the trump economy? As opposed to directly caused by Biden in the last year. Don’t be an idiot

Or you do what? Turn away people from your health care systems during spikes?

I think the fearmongering has played a part in people rushing to the ER and clogging it up. If we had been more honest about how Covid isn't really a threat, people would have acted more rationally in how they dealt with being infected.

Covidians on the coasts are SCARED of getting Covid. Ones with no co-morbidities who have like a 99.999% chance of being fine. THAT causes panic behavior that has led to issues with health care resources.

Also, we would probably have reduced the number of severe cases had we focused on weight loss in 2020. Get our country in shape and Covid won't have shite. But that's not OK to talk about.

These comments are all post first wave. Everything had to pause for a few weeks in spring of 2020 so we could evaluate. I'm talking about after.

Shutting shite down has consequences. It's not about dysfunction.

I'm skeptical we have the state capacity to do very much anymore, even absent the insane lockdown. The response to the pandemic came from an epidemiologic playbook that worked pretty well before, but hasn't adapted itself to this weird hybrid decentralized/centralized world where private actors are expected to retain their interest in profits. There are also multiple ways of designing a response to a disease. We chose the way which required at least some standardization of vaccine response, and instead we had none of the required standardization, which is a pretty large step away from what traditionally worked. The sheer fact that the vaccination program wasn't completely transparent and that vaccine patents weren't waived undermined the seriousness of the pandemic, in addition to all the bullshite where leaders didn't have to live by their own rules they made during the lockdown. It also undermined the degree to which the mRNA vaccines represented a major advance in vaccinology.

There was so much hysterical behavior during the initial response, and subsequently, from politicians and public health institutions alike that I'm skeptical that public health will ever be as robust as it once was in the US. My fear is that instead of rebuilding those institutions, they will be further dismantled in favor of private interests.

Please provide links to the actual quotes. Don't provide links to the talking heads at CNN and MSNBC who claimed that the former President said these things.

A common theme of anti-vaxxers today is celebrating deaths that may, potentially, somehow be linked to vaccination status. Also, there is a very common theme of hoping and praying that serious complications (sometimes cardiac, sometimes immunodeficiencies) do arise.

This is happening on both sides. To pretend it’s not is asinine. To not see it’s by design is ignorant.

Every non-vaxxed death is reported on CNN and Twitter. Every vaxxed death is reported on Fox and Rumble.

Wake up. They want us fighting over the stupid less than 1% complications and deaths instead of focusing on the insane government overreach and it’s working

The price tag for WW2 was $4.1 trillion adjusted for inflation. We had few civilians killed compared to the rest of the world and our infrastructure was left intact.

If we are fighting WW4 right now against globalists and progressive totalitarians inside our own borders, what is the price for freedom?

Did you actually listen to the clip??

Trump most certainly did not call corona a hoax. He called the pollicization of covid the new Russia, Russia, Russia hoax. But of coarse you lefttists love to twist what he said.

That's the part that's interesting. The premise and argument are laughably simplistic.

Though I tend to agree with your point, Jeff Prather and a few others consider this the 4th WW. That it is in an early and maybe prolonged covert stage, fought along propaganda and informational and digital lines, before one day going kinetic.

He like Gen Spalding, Gordon Chang,etc..has the right coordinates on where Enemy #1 resides.

They’ll downvote you to oblivion and deny it wholeheartedly but he reality is you’re absolutely right about them praying for any and everything wrong with the vax that pops up. They get giddy as hell and scream "see! These people are sick!" because it reinforces their political worldviews somehow. I haven’t really understood how the damned vax became so political other than Biden is in office pushing it but the constant, non stop barrage of anti vax this and that gets old pretty quick.
