Is there anything in the historical record to support this actually happened?
What would you expect to be available? Do you know the current theories/evidence?
If SFP answers those 2 questions, we're going to go down yet another insane SFP rabbit hole

I am pretty damn certain I haven't said anything about Islam in this thread

This thread has been classic, textbook SFP.
OP is introduced
SFP firehoses a bunch of bullcrap all over the place and thread gets completely derailed.
SFP gets challenged and then either jokes or ignores or runs away

No I don't understand why you mentioned it because I don't see any relevance to my question.

Luke 3:20-22. After his baptism, the scriptures say ‘the heavens were opened up’ and God’s voice was heard, calling Jesus his son and approving of him.
It appears this is when he regained his prehuman memory as a spirit son of God.
Interesting. This isn’t what orthodox Christianity believes though. What sect do you belong to.

You're not referring to the Bible are you? Because the Bible speaks of people who have since been confirmed by archaeology. It also accords with events and places.
When you write something after events occur, that's rather easy to do.
quote:
Do you know of any counterexamples where the Bible is untrue historically?
The subject of the post you selectively quoted. Modern archeology and history effectively dismisses that "Jews in Egypt" part of the Bible.
Does that make it final? No, but we haven't really found anything to support the stories.

No.
Evidence is used to support a position.
The lack of evidence means supporting the position becomes more untenable.

You must be reading a different thread. My posts, other than the Khazarian CT digression that I thwarted pretty siftly, have been related to OP.
You know who doesn't think I derailed the thread? OP?

You're going to get downvoted into oblivion, but the scholarly research supports what you are saying. And you're right, it is fascinating.
Perhaps you don't understand what the thread is about and you're the one trying to derail it? It seems I was pretty on point with what OP wanted to discuss.

There was relatively little conflict between Jews and Muslim Arabs until about a hundred years ago when Zionists (most of whose ancestors had been in Europe for hundreds of years) began moving into the British Mandate of Palestine, leading to the establishment of the modern state of Israel.
Jews were removed from Judah to Babylon. Then from Babylon(Iraq) to parts of Europe.
Then much much later came present day Israel.
quote:
By the 1st century CE, Jewish communities were established across the Roman Empire, including in modern-day Italy, Spain, France, and Greece. The destruction of the Second Temple in 70 CE and the Bar Kokhba Revolt (132–135 CE) accelerated dispersion, pushing more Jews into Europe.
They weren’t originally from Europe.

quote:You questioned the value of a god that has a visceral reaction to suffering. The value is that when you talk to God, God knows EXACTLY what you're going through. God experienced the same pain we do, firsthand. We have a father we can talk to and he can relate to us. This stands in stark contrast to other religions that have a conception of God as completely transcendent, totally removed and even aloof to our pain and experiences.
No I don't understand why you mentioned it because I don't see any relevance to my question
God doesn't allow us to experience pain he doesn't already know. We can't say to God "you don't know what I'm going through." Plenty of people think God is immoral for allowing us to experience suffering and pain but it's not immoral when he too went through the experience. Imagine trying to learn how to build an engine from someone who knows nothing about cars. How could that person advise you?
