And yet you ignore Trump not giving a dime from his warchest to his chosen candidates in GA, while the Turtle and Kemp had to try and pull the retard's fat out of the fire.

You, and Trump, are clownshows.

I will have fun watching you defend "universal baseline tariffs" the next six months.

Trump is going further and further left. You can't defend that.

I don’t really care about the why but I do care about the what. Outside of a few key issues his political interests are going to be to see which way the wind is blowing. He may align with you today, he may not tomorrow if he thinks your view isn’t popular enough.

I have no problem decoupling from China and will have no problem defending my stance on that. In fact I do that all of the time.

I can because he is not.

It was FDR that started FREE TRADE.

It was the Communist that wanted the USA to have FREE TRADE with communist nations.

You act as if there were no conservatives PRIOR to the socialist FDR pushing that. It's like you have no clue that the USA PRIOR to that funded the federal Gov via those and not income taxes.

I would rather listen to the thoughts of Friedman, Hoppe, LVM on tariffs and trade than JJdork and Trump.

Here is Hoppe.

"International protectionism, while obviously less destructive than a policy of interpersonal or inter-regional protectionism, would result in precisely the same effect and constitute a sure recipe for America’s further economic decline. To be sure, some American jobs and industries would be saved, but such savings would come at a price. The standard of living and the real income of the American consumers of foreign products would be forcibly reduced. The cost to all U.S. producers who employ the protected industry’s products as their own input factors would be raised, and they would be rendered internationally less competitive. Moreover, what could foreigners do with the money they earned from their U.S. imports? They could either buy American goods, or they could leave it here and invest it, and if their imports were stopped or reduced, they would buy fewer American goods or invest smaller amounts. Hence, as a result of saving a few inefficient American jobs, a far greater number of efficient American jobs would be destroyed or prevented from coming into existence."

Who you listen to does not change the facts. FDR put in Hull. Hull cultivated FREE TRADE. Doesn't matter who you listen to. That is historical facts. I will take FACTS over "thoughts" any day.

It's also historical fact that for the first time ever income taxes passed up excise taxes to fund the federal gov under Hull and FDR.

It's also historical fact that Congressional record from 1963 list this as a goal of communism for America:

4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

Nothing you REFUSE to listen to or read changes those facts.

Your readings will not change the facts that China has massive influence in our own GOV and it was made possible by FREE TRADE with Communist CHINA.

BTW.. Trump isn't TARIFF ON ALL. He is more like Reagan was... Free Trade with Fair and FREE societies.

This is from Trump's Agenda 47.

"To achieve this goal, we will phase in a system of universal, baseline tariffs on most foreign products."

Not some products from China, but most foreign products.

I don't give a shat about FDR, Hull, etc etc. You can quit talking about them.

I do care what world renown right wing economists have to say about trade. They have been studying the issue. They HAVE LEARNED FROM HISTORY.

No they have not. FREE TRADE was not a thing until HULL put it into play in the USA.

History has now seen the results. China has massive influence on our own politicians. Biden would not even shoot down a spy ballon. His son is purchased.

The GOPE also has massive connections to the CCP. Our universities are hot beds for them

You bury your head all day long if you want to. Not me. I understand the history. I understand we can have trade with like minded nations and do well.

You are not listening. Not even to him. You missed the part where he stated:

quote:

Thus, it is nonsense to claim that England lost its former preeminence because of its free-trade policies. It lost its position despite its free-trade policy, and because of the socialist policies which later took hold.

Read that carefully.

He goes on to say:

quote:

Indeed, America’s current economic decline, which Buchanan wishes to reverse, is the result not of her alleged free-trade policies, but of the circumstance that America, in the course of the 20th century, has gradually adopted the same socialist policies that earlier ruined England.

My position is that socialism/communism in the USA is a major side effect of FREE TRADE with communist nations.

Are you seriously going to say there has been no influence by communist nations via free trade with the USA?
