I know some people were looking for any way to attack Trump but they really made themselves look politically ignorant when they cried over Trump not debating.
If you're up huge you don't debate, it's as simple as that. It's basic political strategy... You don't help your floundering opponents by giving them a stage next to you. Jindal didn't debate in 2007 or 2011 because he was up big in the polls and he won both elections in landslides. Trump didn't debate in the 2024 gop primaries and he's going to win the nomination in a landslide.

Being willing to debate Biden doesn't mean he isn't scared to debate. If it were just about ideas and policy there were 2 or 3 people in the GOP field who could have crushed him, and I say that as someone who will rush to vote for him in November.
Thats not to say the strategy to stay out of the primary debates wasn't smart on his end. Primaries are about staying as moderate as you can for the general while still winning over your party. He was able to do that without debating. I do think we deserved to see him partake in the marketplace of ideas against his competition. I'm not going to hold it against him that he didn't debate, but won't give him a total pass either.

I would call out any one for not debating for US President. I have never called out anyone till Trump because my candidates have never not debated. Not once. I said when ol joe and Trump decided not to debate there was not going to be one in the general. Sucks and its bad for the people but the die has already been cast.

I agree with the rationale. I didn't and don't respect it. I wanted him up there answering questions that he needs to answer so that we know what he would've done differently, if anything. I would've liked to have that insight to how he views the positive and negatives of his administration. He has a lot of positives.. but 2020 was a mess and he needs to provide answers.
