Disney now owns ABC, ESPN, and Fox. Will this sports/cable television monopoly be allowed?

So now the majority of sports and cable television programming will be run by Disney. I sure as hell hope this can get broken up with anti-trust laws before all the channels turn into SJW crap how ESPN and ABC news has done the last few years.

I blame G. Lucas. I mean he was already worth hundreds of millions but he needed that one billion more

Everything Disney has touched 25 years has turned to shite. I hate Disney.

Almost. Pixar is still putting out great stuff.

They are buying Fox content (movie studio, television production, the libraries of both, etc). Not the channels.
Buying Fox TV, FoxSports, etc, would immediately get the deal kiboshed for antitrust reasons.
Legally they can buy all the content they want because there are few if any impediments to a new company producing shows or films.

How many people have started threads on this and had no idea what they were talking about? It's like every 12hrs now. They only purchased 20th Century Fox and the associated cinema holdings. Fox News and sports did not get purchased people....

Marvel seems to be doing well with Disney, certainly better then either Fox or Sony were doing with that franchise.

Ugh, they are buying all the regional Fox sports channels with the deal, like Fox Sports South etc. Also FX, Nat Geo, Fox's Hulu holdings and others

Disney has done a good job with the Marvel film universe but I don’t see them being willing to take risks like making an R-rated Deadpool movie or a horror XMen movie like New Mutants.
The complaints about the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe overwhelming the story a director a specific filmmaker is trying to make may also be a window into a long term issue.
Continuity lockout due to the interconnecting of all the films will become a problem down the line.
Hell, by the time Infinity War Part 2 happens, we’ll have had about 24 Marvel films with this being the culmination of everything that has happened since the Chitauri invasion in Avengers 1.
It will take good story-writing to allow someone to get away with only having seen Avengers, Age Of Ultron, Civil War, and Infinity War Part 1 to see Intinity War Part 2, let alone having to watch side stories like Black Panther, Ragnarok, etc as well.

NetFlix. Disney has had its eyes on NetFlix since 2016.

Well they are about to take their ownership in Hulu from 30% to 60% so I think they are done with Netflix

NetFlix.
Netflix has a $82B market cap.. They're not buying them. Netflix has about a 1/10th of the overhead cost of Disney and already half their market cap.
One day Netflix might buy out Disney.

They've already said they are pulling out of Netflix. The main reason for this deal is for Disney to have more content to put on their own streaming service to compete with Netflix.
