Did we ever get an explanation for the two decades war in the middle east?

Clinton's FBI was asleep at the wheel and could have prevented 9/11, they knew about all these guys, and Bush (or he knew himself) was lied to about WMD.
So because our intelligence screwed up and allowed 9/11 to happen, and our intelligence screwed up again about WMDs, we get 4,000 dead troops, patriot act, TSA, and trillions and trillions of dollars spent in the sand box for what?

This is why I think GWB has to go down as the worst president in the modern era
Obama and Trump didn't do nearly as much damage

Ever since FDR, the MIC has deliberately kept us in a state of "War Against [insert excuse]" to keep us paying more than our fair share of taxes.
This government was NEVER meant to make people rich. In fact, the Constitution explicitly is designed to prevent that. Yet the 95% of warmongers in DC keep voting themselves into new pay increases...

Washington DC became so much richer over the last 20 years, the explanation is self evident. Maybe not the impetus, but the reason it's never stopped, at least.

Don't undersell Obama taking the Bush "stimulus" and baselining the damn thing. People used to scream about GWB having a 400 billion deficit; it was over a trillion and would have stayed that way if Obama had been able to continue to get his way. Sequester was the only thing that got it back down, and now we have a turnip with Obama acolytes pulling his strings.

Wasn't just Clinton's FBI. The FBI under Bush also tried to escalate the threat and let the top guys they knew where these hijackers were....fell on deaf ears...this was all planned and Clinton and Bush knew about it.
