We discussed this before - I think Halligan was properly appointed, but there is an obvious argument that she was not, so we will see.

No one else worked the Comey grand jury...but, I am not sure one way or the other about her appointment.

If that is the case then the Comey indictment would be in serious trouble if they find her appointment invalid.

As far as James - if Halligan was only attorney working the Grand Jury there as well then I wonder if there would have to be another Grand Jury proceeding. I assume there would, but do not know.

Sorry, must have confused you with someone else.

What is the criminal activity that he engaged in after the purported perjury, exactly?

Perjury charges because of conspiracy activities would continue the conspiracy SoL ? If so wouldn’t release of book with admission of activities be furtherance of consideration of conspiracy ?

That would be extremely difficult to argue and win.

That isn't even criminal to further the conspiracy

And which co-conspirators were involved in that non-criminal activity?

There isn’t an indictment for conspiracy. If there are conspiracy charges they would need to be brought to the grand jury and wouldn’t relate to the indictment for which there is a motion to dismiss

I haven’t heard of any potential conspiracy charges, but they would be a separate crime than the alleged perjury

I understand this on a basic level, but someone other than SFP explain this to me please.

Why was this not a lawful appointment, and why does it really matter?

The issue in these cases is that no U.S. Attorney and arguably no one in the U.S. Attorney's office would sign off on indicting Comey or James.

Which is what is wrong with this country. If a prosecutor has crossed the line, throw the book at them. Prosecutors have lost a ton of respect due to their "win at all cost regardless of justice" attitude.

They get up each morning look at their lil' dicks or tits and say, "Can I catch a big fish today lil' wiggler"?

Wow.

The Offices of the US Attorney are full of very, very good lawyers ... who know their stuff. And none of those competent attorneys was willing to put his or her name to Trump's personal vendetta prosecutions, due to utter lack of merit in those proposed prosecutions.

And you say that this is "what is wrong with this country?"

The only way that Trump could arrange prosecution of his personal, perceived Enemies List was to disregard the trained and experienced professionals and to (illegally) replace them with a former beauty queen who has not prosecuted a single criminal case in her entire career. A lawyer who would still be doing insurance law at a second- or third-tier regional law firm in Florida, if she had not caught Trump's eye.

And you see this as a "Good Thing?"

Again, "wow."

imo this isn't a fix - the issue is this "case" is dumb as shite and clearly motivated by trump's delicate hurt feelings

I pray you have a perfect record because you worked hard for it and a beautiful, loving and supportive family so you will know what it feels like to be charged with whatever the government feels like charging you with multiple times, to be shot at twice, and still you are able to return the favor.

I also pray you are able to fight their fire with a bigger fire.

It would be egg on the face of the admin if they bumbled this easy indictment for Comey, though. Just typical Trump admin chaos.

Eventually the puck goes in the net for you.

Comey and James must have drawn the short straws (to take a small inconsequential sacrificial public hit for the Blue Team SAG)

And why of all US attorneys is the relative newbie Halligan prosecuting either high-profile case? Why not a pitbull attorney? This selection (imo) tells us the admin isn't seriously going to press for real justice.

"Chaos"? Starting n 2020 that's just the way both The Zombie and this President, admin, gubmint, and reality were scripted to roll during the UN's Agenda 2030 ongoing roll out.
