I mean, Trump lost to an Alzheimer’s patient the last time he ran for office

That’s another one of those epic conclusions arrived at after the fact using 20/20 hindsight. Much like is indulged in on the topic of covid, how Trump should’ve easily known to do this and that. If we instead demand of ourselves the honesty of only considering the case as it was on the ground in the lead up to the last election, then we must conclude that no voters knowingly voted for a dementia patient as a repudiation of Trump, but instead voted for good ole centrist Uncle Joe who had all the necessary qualifications and experience by way of his Senate and VP resume. You remember, the guy who was going to be the adult back in the room and would heal our division and bring us all back together. That’s the fraudulent bill of goods his voters were sold. The dementia patient only became blatantly obvious to them after he was sworn in.

Alright. 2 way street then.

A Gov who locked down his state. Put road blocks into his state. Told businesses to comply of he will send his grim reaper (his literal term) after them. Gave the authority to Dem mayors to arrest people and kept it all in place until summer of 2021!

Let's continue on

Serious questions here -

How old are you?

Do you live in Florida? When was the last time you were in Florida?

Let's start there.

Desantis is running for the nation's top seat. I just need to be an American old enough to vote.

Let's start with this..

Are we going to continue to play the blame game on Covid?

Every time you post about DeSantis and pretend he responded to Covid poorly, I’m just going to call you a fig.

You tell me. You'll see in my recent post history that I couldn't give two shits about COVID policy from 3+ years ago, I think letting it effect your vote on the future of this country in 2024 is imbecilic. It literally couldn't matter less anymore, we have much bigger issues.

That being said, trying to attack Desantis on COVID policy and response in defense of Trump is just insanity. I was and am a Trump supporter, but his response to COVID and letting Fauci run roughshod was easily his biggest negative and failure of his presidency.

I live in Florida and I know firsthand that it was by far and away the best, most lax and pragmatic state when it came to COVID restrictions and response. I'm a US Marshal and traveled to at least 8 different states during COVID, I know this firsthand whereas you do not.

No resident of FL would tell you that Desantis handled the fake pandemic poorly, yet here you are sitting on your computer or phone 24 hours a day while being outraged for someone else when you had no skin in the actual game.

Hmmm, being outraged for some group of people that doesn't include you... Who does that sound like?

You are the leftists and progressives you pretend to despise, in a nutshell

My recent post history shows that the covid blame game is stupid. It's in this very thread.

And that does not excuse DeSantis's actions. So if we are going to play this blame game, we are going to all play it.

See the point?

I have made it clear many times here. I am from Fl. I live in the Miami area. I have family in Tampa.

Arrests were being made here in 2021 for breaking covid restrictions. Are you going to tell me that did not happen? Are you going to try to tell me that had nothing to do with DeSantis order when it's clear as a nice sunny day in the documents?

There is a reason Trump is polling at 80% to DeSantis 7% in this area. In Tampa, its 76%.

Nobody needs to walk away. Here are more people from Miami that turned to the GOP and are pissed.

This is yet another disingenuous post by DeSanctus fans. This is Naples. All of Florida was not like this. Counties like Broward & Dade were under tyranny well into 2021. In August 2021, we were still fighting to unmask kids in schools

You can ignore us and tell us that we are lying, but it's not going to help you get votes.

Probably the biggest LIE pushed for 2022-2024...is the repeated "Florida Never Shut Down During COVID"

This is total BS. Extra BS if you claim Florida residency & push this crap

If it were by Desantis' order then mass arrests would've been happening all over the state, instead you had a small amount of arrests in areas with a large amount of Democrat voters and leaders locally.

Who do you think is to blame for those?

It's like recent history is being completely whitewashed to form a narrative that didn't exist a few months ago, simply because Trump pointed his finger and said "Desantis bad!"

Florida's (and Texas') handling of the pandemic was the subject of envy on this board until recently. Can't imagine why that changed.

You do not understand the order. I blame local gov too, but they could not have done that with out the order from DeSantis.

It did exist months ago. It existed from 2021 and forward. We have not forgotten either. I just linked you to a guy posting from 2022. You simply want it to not be true.

If you want this to be a political position for the upcoming primary, you are going to get your wish.

Mask cause cases. Plus lockdowns in Miami are harmful to kids! Action is needed.

Closing South Beach they only moved the problem to another area of Miami. Lockdowns, travel restrictions are not a solution if not well coordinated.
Just stupid and ineffective palliative that ruin people's life and US economy.

Everyone acting like he's some kind of hero for lifting the restriction that HE, HIMSELF, ordered.... he imposed lockdowns, and he was the guy who determined which areas restrictions were lifted from, and when. MIami Dade and Broward were the longest held under RDS lockdowns...

Excuse it here if you need to, but we are not forgetting.

DeSantis has a racial problem. He has somehow within a 24 hour span alienated both LULAC and NAACP.

And yet this man wants to become president. Right now it appears the GOP should rally around two dark horse candidates, Tim Scott and/or Niki Haley.

I wouldn’t call it scouring.
More like copy and paste from Trump Campaign e-mails.

Are you fricking kidding me?

Texas' solution to the pandemic was simply to shut everything down. This was the case pretty much statewide, except for underpopulated rural districts. There was a time, from April to June of 2020, that Lina Hidalgo was fining Harris County residents $1000. for appearing in public without a mask! And Gov. Abbott ordered the arrest of a salon owner in Dallas for opening and operating her business.

One time during the craziness of 2020, I had to travel 120 miles to Kosse in rural Limestone County to get a haircut!
