You think if a genius like you or your shiny new daddy were President then, you could have weathered a pandemic with no economic damage. I think letting everyone go broke and bankrupt and completely collapsing the economy is a worse option, but that's just me, I'm sure your UT MBA and Harvard PhD in Economics and your decades of experience in Epidemiology are how you arrived at your magical conclusion.

So what was your alternative? Force everyone to go back into restaurants and movie theaters and brick-and-mortars and schools?
A stitch in time saves nine. We'd be much further in debt, be in a depression, and have little hope of avoiding default on even more debt. If you don't see this, I can't help you.
