Lets start here
quote:

Dont be fooled, Ron DeSantis is a Bush-Cheney Republican

NY Times

His political career started with maverick PAC

https://www.maverickpac.com/aboutus
quote:

Throughout our nearly twenty-year history, numerous MavPAC members have gone on to serve at the highest levels of government. Alumni include Governor Ron DeSantis (FL), Senator Ted Cruz (TX), Representatives Elise Stefanik (NY-21), as well as former Congressman Will Hurd (TX-23).

MavPAC’s origins trace back to President George W. Bush’s 2004 campaign, which aimed to engage young business leaders via its Maverick bundling program. In 2009, George P. Bush and Jay Zeidman oversaw a nationwide launch that established chapters in more areas of the country.

And Maverick PAC didnt just enlist Rob!
quote:

Maverick PAC Announces ‘Future40’ Award Honorees

Notable honorees of the 2022 class include: Press Secretary for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Christina Pushaw. Previous recipients of the Future 40 Award include Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (NY-21) and Congressman Dan Crenshaw (TX-2)

That Bush PAC also helped to fund Desantis
quote:

DeSantis was “far and away ahead of most when it comes to getting oil and gas major donors”, said Proler, the former national chair of Maverick PAC, a network for young American conservatives. “I think there’s a reason why he’s going to Midland.”

DeSantis was the “only candidate that has a legitimate chance to beat Trump for the nomination”, he added, reflecting a view shared by many across Texas’s oil patch.

Financial Times

Lets not forget about the Bush go-to guy, Karl Rove. He helped organize a Texas fundraiser for Ron
quote:

DeSantis will headline the Harris County GOP’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner on March 3 and then another party dinner in Dallas County the next day

Real Clear Politics
quote:

"The Bushes" Are Running The Ron DeSantis 2024 Campaign, "Karl Rove Will Be The Coach On The Field"

The Bush clan even endorsed Ron
quote:

Jeb Bush Endorses Ron DeSantis For President In 2024: "Forward-Leaning, Future-Oriented"

Real Clear Politics

I mean he does have a prominent place with Ron. In fact, right behind him at the Desantis inauguration

Plus, they brought in Ws debate coach to assist Ron
quote:

Ron DeSantis’ Campaign Is Flailing. Enter the GOP’s Debate Wizard.

“I said to Karl Rove, ‘You know John Kerry has a debate coach, and you need one for President Bush.’ He kind of laughed and I laughed, and I didn’t think anything would happen,” O’Donnell told the Harvard Crimson in 2012. “Then a couple days later, he called and said, ‘Were you serious?’ and I said ‘Sure.’” Rove brought him on to prepare Bush for his 2004 debates.

Politico

Let the denials (and source mocking) begin

You're a nutball that claims that Ron Desantis personally plotted to give you a speeding ticket on your way to Disenyworld.

No one cares.

The funny thing about this superfan argument is that Trump and Bush are near mirror images of each other.

That he is. It is a fascinating read about how much they tried to keep Trump out of NYC. He was not allowed but still found a way.

He helped the Bushes at Gitmo hide torture and got promoted to the Iraq front. So he's been a Bush bot for a long time. I get it he would be a nobody if he didn't. However after becoming governor, he would have been wise to become his own man and ditch the deep state. But who knows what dirt they have on him perhaps he was between a rock and a hard place, which is why he ran such a dispirited campaign.

I'm failing to see the link you are trying to make?

Saying Ted Cruz would have been a better President than Trump?

Trump was a pretty mediocre one at best, and Ted Cruz is a good conservative and extremely smart.

So...what?

I remember a year ago when Jeb! gave Ron! his endorsement.

After the blowback. Jeb! crawfished on his endorsement:

Jeb Bush: ‘I was praising, not endorsing’ DeSantis

And so many rather dig their heels in instead of admitting they were wrong and got duped by Ron.

I was one of them but I admitted it the moment I started seeing red flags.
