Sure. And we’re going to point and laugh at Republican candidates trying to use that messaging and type of argument in the primary.

Trump helped advance transgenderism into mainstream culture.

Now his supporters want to roll over for CRT.

These people are weak, jello brained, losers.

Vice President Harris has stepped up her attack-dog role, and on Friday traveled to Jacksonville to assail DeSantis’s policies in his home state. She emphasized that slavery involved rape, torture and “some of the worst examples of depriving people of humanity in our world.”

Well she should know. Her family was all about it.

He has a point. There would be no Lebrun James or Oprah Winfrey or any of the others without slavery. I’m in no way supporting slavery but there are some good thing that came as a result of slavery.

The other option would be malaria and a bone through your nose, not the NBA and NFL.

Just saying!

Oh, WaPo is dishonest AF. This is just long line of GOP hit pieces to keep the blacks on the Dem plantation.

I wonder if DeSantis supporters understand that it doesn’t matter if what he says is right or truthful?

Don’t forget “he gives them the ammunition” and “he steps on his own dick.”

He has 2 choices. He can either support his own group of Black scholars that were used to rewrite the curriculum and tell the truth or he can submit to the mob and say 2+2=5. Way too many "Republicans" choose the latter because they have no backbone.

I remember when they were claiming they loved Trump because he would fight. That’s not true. They love Trump because he insults. They don’t want to fight.

See this thread for reference.

You can never win any battle with slavery. Even stating facts, you’ll lose.

Eh, I don’t think so.

I supported and voted for Trump, twice, and I think CRT is downright evil.

I just don’t think it’s helpful or productive to try to convince Americans today that slavery was, in some ways, good for black people.

I assume you have the context of the quote in question and you have determined that DeSantis was trying to argue that slavery was good for black people.

The article immediately frames the argument that WaPo and Dems support blacks and Ron and the GOP are anti-black. It’s very difficult to stay out of this default framing when the MSM ask questions on this subject. It’s also the reason I believe Trump always defaults to great unemployment numbers with blacks under his term as basically a deflection . It’s way too politically dangerous to get into the weeds on this subject. Maybe later when enough blacks are off the Dem plantation but not yet.

Woke morons tried to push CRT into schools and DeSantis stood in their way, and instead pushed for a historically factual account of what actually happened.

That’s both helpful and productive. What’s not helpful or productive is when people like you accommodate the woke mob’s disingenuous attacks.

I don't trust the WaPo to accurately quote ANYone. In fact, it takes a certain kind of "special" to assume a word they print is accurate.

However,

IF DeSantis's contention is that US descendents of slaves are better off than if their ancestors had not been brought here. He's right. It's a virtually universal truth.

Now that in NO way excuses slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, existent bigotry, etc. But it is an unassailable fact, nonetheless.
