I’ll stay home or vote for the uber liberal RFK, Jr., if Haley is the nominee.

Yep. This likely buried him for 2028 too.

Imagine had he been a staunch supporter of Trump instead.

That pairing would have either made himself and Trump more powerful as POTUS for 2024, or had Trump not won 2024, Desantis would be set up for Trumps endorsement and his voting bloc in 2028 - making him unbeatable - regardless of 2024.

He ruined a win/win.

Yep, he done for good. Maybe we can look forward to Donald Jr, Tiffany or Eric. This is the Trump legacy.

Stutters?

It's over.

I just hope he hasn't torpedoed his 2028 chances as well. Then again, if Newsom steals the 2024 election, we'll probably never see a legitimately elected President again.

Same with Vivek and Haley?
Vivek will stay in until Super Tuesday.

Then he will drop out and continue to kiss Trump's arse hoping for a Cabinet position.

Please provide me with a detailed explanation as to why? What specific actions has he taken during the campaign - list them please. Did he say something during the debates ? List them.

Explain for all to understand.

I suspect DeSantis will be fine in the long run. See Nixon for precedent.

Once folks realize that DJT’s potential return to the WH for 4 years does not result in the revolution they are banking on then they’ll be prepared next time to look beyond shoes, awkward laughs, and how someone looks when they eat in the future.

And I want presumed GOP nominee DJT to win the general and have a very successful 4 year term. But he’s not going to rid DC of what ails it in that time.

Is this a melt? Feels like a melt.

Nikki will route RDS in 2028, unless he mends fences with Trump. He might have a shot.

IMO he sank himself for 2028. It either was fully known or should have been known during the decision making process as to whether to run that if so, there was no way around it getting rather highly contentious between him and Trump, and him and the other candidates for that matter. It’s just a contentious process and with the narrative being heavily played up at the beginning that he was going to be Trump’s “strongest” opponent, there was no reason whatsoever for them to not fully expect it to get contentious and at times ugly.

So therefore he’s pretty much burned his bridges with Trump, as to be expected due to the above described circumstances, and it’s highly unrealistic to expect any fence mending to occur in the future. I think that’s a natural result of the situation and decisions made. I believe Vivek is the new top dog for 2028 and if things continue at the present trajectory, he will get Trump’s support…..to the extent that Trump does “pass the torch” outwardly to someone/anyone in the future.

If this is the line of thinking for the majority of Republicans, we deserve what’s coming. Trump is not a dictator, nor is he a god. He’s a deeply flawed political candidate who does some great things and some silly things. He is not above being challenged or questioned.

It’s not a line of thinking. It’s reality. He chose a path of divisiveness instead of unity. It came with huge risk - that he’s now realizing.

This outcome was obvious, inevitable, and 100% predictable.

I think Vivek is actually trying to grow his brand.

Haley is certainly being controlled by the same people controlling Desantis' campaign.

ok

Do you think this candidacy is helping his future political endeavors or hurting them.

I don't think you'll find any honest person suggest that there hasn't been a major cost to his image as a result of the decision to get in this race. You'll have many suggest that's not fair/justified, but no honest person will deny that his image has taken a big hit.
