I’m sure there are much more qualified people to run for political office than riverboat gambler Tommy Tuberville or don’t know how many people are on the field, daddy got me my job Derek Dooley, but then again, looking around at people in various political positions, maybe not?
There are plenty of qualified people. But I do not know what either of these two have done that would suggest they can’t be good representatives. If they’d said something like “Guam is going to tip over” regarding stationing troops there, then yeah that individual is likely retarded and shouldn’t be a representative. Likely will not last long in their position either.

This bitch is not in the Senate and never will be.
I was referencing all representatives. Not just the senate. I think that being a walking corpse is a bad thing regardless of whether you’re a senator or a congressman.

My apologies for mistaking you for an aubie. All you “tigers” look the same.

Ok I actually agree with you, I didn’t consider their actual role in government and the fact Dooley is running against the swamp, Im totally for Dooley now and have never doubted him

The sarcasm is noted. Why don’t you elaborate as to why you’re against him. There might be information concerning him that I’m not aware of that would make me change my mind.

I really am not being sarcastic
I mean i was joking when i said I never doubted him but i do like him after I read about him a little bit and seeing who he was running against

It's not like these two are the first sports attached folks to run for office.
Steve Largent (Seahawks wide receiver spent eight years as a US House rep from Oklahoma.
Former Nebraska head coach Tom Osborne served six years in the House as a rep from Nebraska.
Former Braves pitcher Pat Jarvis spent 19 years as the elected sheriff of DeKalb County.
Those are all just off the top of my head. They run (or are convinced to run) because they have name recognition and, usually, the right letter by their name in the ballot for the area they are running in.

Surprising.
He was in 3rd place last time I checked.
Interesting.

why are these idiot coaches trying to get into politics?
Because MAGA will vote for them. Same with reality television stars.

NIL money driving them out and culture making the game less desirable to coach.
And politics may pay more if they know how to work into the bacon wrapped shrimp club.

I’m not sure that can be said though without more evidence. Tommy Tuberville never won the national championship as a football coach, but has turned into one heck of a representative.
At least you’re right about the representative part

I guess I should have clarified “head” coach. But I assumed that was a given.

He will lose
I mean he wont be favored to win, but I am glad he ran. We need more people running especially people who have a great background and were successful in life prior to running.
I kind of like these football coaches as politicians.

Does Georgia want Dooley calling the plays?

Tennessee fans laughing at Georgia this morning.

Can either of these guys unseat the Democrat Senator?
It's unbelievable that Georgia has 2 Democrat Senators.

He's not a giant lib. Is a smart guy being a lawyer. Is well spoken and has organizational skills since he was a head coach. Plus he is already wealthy so perhaps he won't be day trading

I like how the SEC has created a political wing.
