SIAP....This is appearing as the only way they are going to win elections. A few voters had to go south, the voting process will be heavily monitored, so cheating 's going to get tougher. Wtf do they even stand for besides being a bunch of SJW...eirdos?

This isn't directed at you.

Good Lord. The sheer amount of stupidity in this thread is amazing. And these people consider themselves thinkers and visionaries, I guess.

I fear for the future of our country when these children grow up.

I tried to avoid this one, but thanks. I have a 17 year old who I've tried to steer him in the right direction...he talks the talk, but the walk...he's going to have to learn the hard way like his mother.

My view on the electoral college has always been this: If I lived in California, I wouldn't bother to go vote because my candidate has 0% chance of getting a single benefit from it, so if popular votes were the thing, a lot of people with my same philosophy would vote in the largest states, and my guy would still win.

Because we are not a democracy.

If Trump wins in 2020 it will probably be with less votes that the Democrat. So I can understand their pain. Still, we are still a Republic.

Also it would require changing the constitution to get rid of the electoral college.

Good luck convincing flyover states to ratify that and give up their power.

Going to a simple majority in the Senate only requires changing the Senate rules

This is honestly where I stand on the issue. The EC came into existence primarily as a bargaining tool. It appeased the smaller states by giving them inflated representation as opposed to larger states.

In theory, it was the best approach to get ratification. However, in modern times we are starting to see the consequences more clearly.

What an odd perspective coming from a Texan, land of miles of nowhere.

But the fix is in Democrat hands. Simply divide CA and NY into smaller states. Voila! Problem solved.
