How do you know they’re families? Just because Jose has 3 tykes and a fat Latino bitch with him doesn’t mean they’re related.
I’m not saying I can come up with the best policy, im just saying there ought to be one and it’s important to have one if we’re going to prosecute everyone trying to cross the border illegally.

Why is this (border Wall) a crisis now even though every illegal immigration metric has been going down since the mid 00’s?

So we’re going back to the Reagan era war on drugs as our top national priority?
Nope. I think they should all be legal. If someone wants to shoot heroin, fine. I say give them more than they need. Let them OD.
But they aren’t legal. And the opioid crisis is real. And a frick ton of them come from our southern border.

You should have just said it’s there to stop a Saudi posing as a Mexican smuggling a dirty bomb across the desert.
A Saudi terrorist coming across the border isn’t a tangible issue. Opiates are.

There is a policy. You can find it Right here

Okay, so we can’t come up with a policy that addresses this while keeping actual families together as best we can? As opposed to just completely losing track of them?
Yeah, a wall that discourages caravans pf thousands hitting up one entry point and overwhelming it. There's too many of them and your party just encourages it to keep on happening.

I’d like to point out that I said the GND was impractical and border security is a problem worth addressing and I’m 0-13 upvote/downvote ratio

I'm all for alternative energy and a vigorous infrastructure program.
As for the wall. Why don't Trump supporters ask themselves one simple question. The first two years, let me repeat that, the first two years Trump and the Republicans owned the White House, the Senate, and Congress, so why didn't they give Trump his money for his border wall then? I can make a pretty good guess as to why. Because Republicans in both the house and the Senate recognized Trump's wall as a Vortex of stupidity. Do you have a better answer as to why the Republicans did not give Trump his wall money when they owned the entire government?

I have always maintained that facts are your friends. Unfortunately for Trump's supporters those facts have become mortal enemies.
Why Trump didn’t build the wall when Republicans controlled Congress
It wasn’t only Democrats who had doubts about the structure.
"The construction of a physical barrier along the Mexican border has been Donald Trump’s signature issue since he hit the campaign trail in 2015 and led repeated chants of “Build the wall!” After Trump won, he enjoyed two years when his fellow Republicans controlled both the Senate and House of Representatives. But he only began to insist on billions in wall funding after Democrats captured the House, precipitating the longest federal shutdown in U.S. history. If the border wall was as important to Trump as he says, why didn’t Republicans provide the funds while they ruled Capitol Hill?"
"Even if Trump had managed to unite Republicans by appealing to their party loyalty (or by threatening retribution), the border wall’s low approval ratings meant that congressional Democrats were hardly tempted to lend their support without significant policy concessions. Republicans could have used the budget reconciliation process to push wall funding through Congress, thereby making it impossible for the Democrats to filibuster it. But Republican leaders were limited by Senate rules to one reconciliation bill per yearly budget resolution — and they had planned to use those vehicles for their own top legislative priorities: repealing the Affordable Care Act and enacting tax reform."
(The so-called border crisis was far from a top priority when Republicans held the majority.)
