How bout a win for the integrity of our borders and our ability to support a large poor segment of our population with social services? Surely, you realize this isn’t sustainable financially. Your comments unfortunately reflect the true mentality of the majority of the Dems as you’d rather hurt our country than support common sense measures while Trump is President. I know of none of my conservative friends that would have rather spited our country than give Obama ‘a policy win”. The selfishness, narcissism and ignorance behind these type of stances saddens me as a American as if the majority of your friends feel like this our sovereignty is lost. Hope you can evolve your stance to Country over Party.

I never understood this debate point. If I was in another country with my kids and broke a law that resulted in my incarceration, what would happen to my kids?

The wall is the hill the right wants to die on because it’s a visual representation of the fear they’ve been fed. It’s not a nuanced discussion about the realities of illegal immigration and a strategy on how to deal with it. I’m sure a wall in some areas is the best use of our resources. I’m totally fine with that. We already have walls in some areas.

I can’t speak for you or your friends but this was absolutely the tact Republicans in Congress took with Obama and it was a very popular one with the majority of the right. Republicans were rewarded for this strategy in the 2016 election. Why wouldn’t Democrats use that formula?

Immigration? The last 5 months are already above the last full fiscal year in terms of apprehensions. There has been enough heroin and Fentanyl recovered at the border in the last six months to kill over 50 million people. A recent Yale study places the number of illegals in the US around 30 million.

Does it? I would imagine that I would be separated from my kids in any country at a minimum. If I intentionally involved my kids with breaking a law in another country that resulted in myself being incarcerated, I don’t believe I would too much moral and/or legal ground to stand on.

Temporary child separation was an Obama era policy designed to protect unidentifiable migrant children from accompanying adults, who in many cases, were sex traffickers, coyotes, or kidnappers. Dems had no issue with it until Trump was elected. And this bitch wants to lecture conservatives about pandering and demagoguery.

Well #1 y’all keep citing numbers with no support so I have no idea how accurate what you’re saying is or isn’t.
#2 Even if you’re correct, I’ve said at least twice in this thread that I’m not against wall/fencing as part of an larger border security strategy.
