They look broad. I believe there’s some important distinctions that are being played fast and loose. I.e, a person with an asylum hearing scheduled does not have asylum (to my understanding).

That is probably correct. But since we aren't really getting any detailed evidence to see to back up these claims, my suspicion is that the people making this assertion are playing fast and loose with the term "illegal."

When a migrant crosses the border and applies to asylum, they are assigned a case number and given a status of lawful entry and work rights. Those asylum seekers can and do apply for Social Security numbers, and payroll taxes are deducted from their paychecks, even though they are not permitted to receive Social Security benefits. Through that system, Social Security numbers are issued to a huge number of people lawfully, before their asylum applications are adjudicated. This is the great asylum loophole that Congress has needed to address for decades, but has failed to address through both Democratic and Republican control.

If the asylum seeker loses their asylum hearing, they are to voluntarily leave or be removed. Even if they leave, there is still a Social Security number on file, even though the migrant is no longer lawfully present.

This is US law. It has nothing to do with Democrats or Republicans. It's the law.

What this thread does not know and no one seems to be explaining is, has something happened that is not in compliance with the law? Or is this just another trust me bro?

In other, less civil times, a revolution would have already happened.

Im not advocating for violence, but it would be justified given the circumstances and that it is provable that our government has LITERALLY frickING STOLEN 100,000’s from every American taxpayer.

We have gone to war over MUCH, MUCH less.

So when people talk about spending and why we dont spend less.
