What’s the problem, David? I thought safety trumps the bill of rights?

Well established that students don't enjoy their full first amendment rights while at school.

So he doesn't support common sense safety policies? Go figure.

quote:

It’s unnecessary, it’s embarrassing for a lot of the students and it makes them feel isolated and separated from the rest of American school culture where they’re having essentially their First Amendment rights infringed upon because they can’t freely wear whatever backpack they want regardless of what it is. It has to be a clear backpack. What we should have is just more policies that make sure that these students are feeling safe and secure in their schools and not like they’re being fought against like it’s a prison.”

Says they need more policies, more policies are implemented, hates policies that he called for.

This is why we don't listen to children.

I thought that CNN bitch refuses to even attend school. Why is he bitching about a backpack he won't be wearing?

Because they paid him to push gun control not backpack control.

If school uniforms haven't been declared a violation of students' 1st amendment rights, then a clear backpack policy definitely isn't a violation of rights.

Funny that NOW he's worried about constitutional rights once its something that affects what he wants.

That bridge was crossed a long time ago when Republicans created big brother.

That said, I dont see how a clear backpack takes any of his first amendment rights away.

Hale, you really need to go back and visit the rebuttals to your comment on the “Lone Louisiana Republican” thread. Revisit that thread before you start a new one.

Don’t have the right to bear arms in prison either David, not that you mind the American people feeling like you think you do now.

I knew this would happen. I bet his FBI daddy has an AR-15, too.

How about a swastika in Florida or even the American flag in the Rio Grande Valley?

No doubt he believes it violates his 4th Amendment rights to have his stuff searched, but I mean this would be akin to arguing that requiring glass windows on vehicles means a cop can look in your vehicle and see your contraband without a warrant.

If someone forces him to put something in his backpack, then we have an issue.
