urray himself has done a phenomenal job battling the "experts" over that time span. But I think we was perfectly justified in being concerned that Rogan has given a voice to these amateur historians. It's irresponsible.
Be that as it may, he chose a poor time to bring it up and if the goal is to win a debate don’t start off with an obvious fallacy.
Again, I actually align with DM on his positions although I also like listening to Dave. But in terms of winning the debate, DM really tripped over his dick several times.

He's put the time in since. You can't disagree with that. Degrees in the humanities are extremely beneficial for developing the intellect. Then you go and use your brain like Murray has done.
So you admit his degree doesn’t mean shite in this context, so why bring it up?

So this makes him a smart person?
Absolutely it does. That's how arguments work. I work as an attorney. If I go into court and just assert something, then I am no different than my client. Why would they pay me to just do what they can do?
The smart attorney is the one who asserts with evidence. That's what separates them from the guy who yells louder and pleads for emotion. Not what their GPAs were in law school.
That's what Dave Smith did. Murray brought only assertions that Smith was dumb because he's also a comedian.
This isn't complicated.

So the board is Pro Palestine now? Is that the takeaway?

What more could you want
For Douglas Murray to actually acknowledge that you don't have to have a degree from Oxford to be knowledgeable and have valuable opinions about a subject.
And if you agree to do a debate, actually debate that person's arguments and not just dismiss them as being beneath your superior self inflated knowledge.
DM just came off like an elitist prick like he does in almost all his debates.

Did you watch the episode? If so, please share Murray’s best argument.
I think that Dave didn't have anything to reply to on the hostage situation in Gaza, fairly. I don't think you level an entire building because a bad guy is in there though as a result though.
You want the bombing to stop? Release the hostages.

I think Israel is a manipulative state that uses and abuses the US taxpayer every single day. They also are the closest thing to a functioning
government, democracy, or ally in the region.
Palestine is a bunch of regressive, room temperature IQ people that got really screwed during the realignment after WWII and feel like their only option is to put terrorists in charge for the chance of having what they feel like is their own homeland. They're idiots, but they have no home of their own.

I get it. You're just trolling.
I admit to being the dumb one now for not picking up on that sooner. Apologies.

No they didn’t, you brought it up in a pathetic appeal to authority (just like your idol Murray did for three hours). I’m less likely to listen to the guy who was completely wrong about Syria, Iraq, Covid, and Ukraine. He also said RFK Jr. shouldn’t be allowed a platform to criticize big pharma.
But yeah, the English degree is much more important.

Did you wear a mask everywhere during covid? Not trying to be snarky at all here. Legit asking.
Dave Smith was spot on during all of the covid madness. The kinds of "experts" you seem to lionize were constantly wrong during covid, and me saying "wrong" is being generous. They lied constantly.

Im going to pre-face this by saying I overall like Dave Smith - similar to Tucker, I am just not a fan of a few of their geopolitical takes. You can believe the US does not need to meddle in the world's affairs without legitimizing aggressive behavior from US rivals
As to my prior comment, maybe cheering on was too strong of a phrase, but Dave has repeatedly regurgitated Kremlin lies to justify the invasion
For instance, Dave on Rogan's show two years ago ( transcript):
None of the regions Putin has laid claim to were majority Russian ethnicity outside of Crimea, pre-war ethnicity:
- Kherson: 82% UA - 14% RU
- Zaporizhzhia: 71% UA - 24.5% RU
- Luhansk: 58% UA - 39% RU
- Donetsk: 57% UA - 38% RU
Ukraine's parliament had voted 315-34 to move towards the EU, it was massively popular with their electorate, and their President unilaterally rejected it and tried to steer them towards Russia. Their Parliament then voted 328-0 to legally remove Yanukovych from office, that is in no way a coup
That is not to say that the US should be involved in anyway. The US has no business being involved in Ukraine, and Ukraine should make a peace deal with Russia (they cannot win). Little Z is causing immense human loss from his refusal to acknowledge the reality of the situation

I should mention there too, is that that Donbass region on the eastern portion of Ukraine is like majority ethnic Russians

I hope Israel and Ukraine both prevail in their current struggles. Hamas is a pile of terrorists and Putin is a despotic dictator.
Israel has treated Palestine like shite and taken land since the 1940 borders and pretty much embargoed the entire place and operates as their police.
NATO and the US have pushed and pushed things in the area since the end of the Cold War and removed a democratically elected Russia friendly president and provoked Russia for 30 years now.
people can be of two minds about a situation.

I don't think anyone outside the medical community should have major influence, good or bad, on pharmacology. RFK is an environmental lawyer by trade. Why is this controversial?

if it's your first time, go listen to his 11/7/24 Joe Rogan podcast. that's a better snapshot of who he is. this was a debate format where he's passionate as opposed to a real interview.
or watch him debate Chris Cuomo on the Patrick Bet David podcast. that was over Covid and dishonest media and he freaking cleaned his clock.
i'm a big fan of his, but Israel/Palestine is where I disagree with him the most.
and Tariffs.

That's fine, but my point about covid was really to just point out how insanely wrong the "experts" were about everything. Blindly trusting "experts" has fricked us over constantly. Another one involving health is the food pyramid, or "experts" who told us for years saturated fat is bad for you.
I don't care at all if someone is an "expert" or not. I care if they are right or wrong. If they are wrong, then just tell us why they are wrong. Also, Murray's assumption seemed to be that all experts agree on the issues they are experts on.
I'm not a doctor, but I do know for a fact that eating donuts all day every day will make me fat. Somehow, even though I'm not an "expert" you and I still know that eating like that is unhealthy.

So your solution is for everyone to shut up and listen to the pharmaceutical companies that forced vaccines on us and locked down the country for no reason?
