It is what it is and it's how it will always be.

Prove that. More specifically, forget everything you know that Yanez couldn't have known at the time, then prove that.

It doesn't matter what you think. It matters what the cop thought. He may shitty at his job but this is exactly why you take classes when you assume the responsibility of carrying a firearm.
People blow off things like classes for concealed carry. It's a serious issue.

Using it as an excuse? Didn't he tell the dispatcher he thought he matched the description of the suspect? That means he was thinking that before he even got out of the car. It can't be an excuse after the fact
So he followed procedure for a suspected felony stop?

Just curious, can you give me the county you serve in. Want to make sure I pass by on the side of it.

when you don't comply yes you become a criminal.
Cool.
But he was complying because the cop asked for him to reach for his license.
All he said later was well don't reach for the gun...and apparently forgot that he had asked for the license.
So next time, don't comply just sit there frozen hands at 10-4 and you might live.

Did Castille follow procedure for a concealed carry stop?

Nope. I'll take your failure to answer my question as an answer.

It was reported his hands were going up. Who are you going to believe?
I wasn't a witness, nor was I a juror. I can say that I believe the officers reaction and actions right before the shooting were real. If you can watch that and say that the officer didn't believe his life was in danger, you must think he is an Academy Award winning actor.

Is anyone arguing this?
And castille is shitty at life. It was a chance encounter that led to an unfortunate event.
People want to make it about race. That's the problem

I firmly believe he feared for his life. I am not nearly as convinced his fear was reasonable.

Ahchoo is arguing he should be cop of the year (only slight hyperbole).

Castile didn't fail to comply with an order. Nothing about his situation says any drug played a role in him being killed.
A) "Don't reach for it" "stop reaching"-- Castile continued to reach.
B) He had THC in his system. Knowing that, it is reasonable for the jury to conclude that he may not have been thinking clearly and/or it could have affected his reactions. - vs not having any illegal substances in your system and removing that possibility all together. Cop also reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the car as well, which could've affected his actions.

I'm not convinced race played no role. I am convinced racism played no role.

He didn't follow procedure for a felony stop, but was it a felony stop? He didn't even know who the felon was. It was just a possible suspect
I'm failing to see why that would matter?

You hand your license to the officer with the concealed carry card at the same time and confirm either yes, you have a gun in the car at that time or no you don't.
Never had a problem. Don't know why this cop flipped out outside of race, inexperience and culture of law enforcement...if the guy has a license - he most likely like 99% of the population has to reach behind his waist band where a gun could be.
