Where I disagree is that many think it comes from something inate within the culture. As if they are inherently inferior.

No! They seem to be inherently violent. That's why cops don't know how to judge their actions...this isn't hard to understand. Just look at the Myrtle Beach situation this weekend. These fuc&er love to shoot shite up! It's the culture that owns most of the blame for any overreaction from law enforcement.

The war on drugs has been a crime against humanity...ruining more lives.

And convinced...generations that drugs are bad m'kay and cops are good guys because I watched Hill Street Blues.

I love when people say, what happened to cops in the last decade - going all crazy and militarized and shooting dogs?

Holy crap, they were worse 50 years ago with no accountability and no oversight. Power corrupts - and it's always been like that.

If you brainwash a population into thinking its okay for a cop to kill someone - in a manner that would NOT be considered self-defense for any other American citizen...then you are placing cops above the law.

Yeah, good thing that officer made it by your house, to tell you not to run with scissors, jump off of cliffs, or take a bath with a toaster, huh?

I was just making it clear that the officer never said "put your hands where I can see them." He never said "put your hands up." He never said "put your hands on the wheel." He just told him "don't reach for it." And Castile responded that he wasn't. As did his girlfriend. And then the police officer shot him.

agree. I can see police saying, "Hey, I'm not super comfortable with this. Maybe he shouldn't have shot him. But I understand why he did." I can totally agree with that. I cannot agree with, "Perfect job by the cop. He did everything 100% correctly."

I have to admit for awhile there I thought you had some weird self-hatred going on but now I see it was you just trying to keep it real and be honest. Props to you, sir.

How many people look like the are reaching for their wallet right before they pull a gun and kill someone?

100%

Can you say specifically what looks different about pulling a gun and pulling a wallet?

Yes. It's more responsible for the dysfunction of the lower classes than anything else.

so you would trust the criminal and take his word for it? Yes the cop should had said put your hands on the wheel but the criminal should have complied from the beginning. And no I would not trust him or his girlfriends word unless I have him and his weapon secured.

And being high can affect your thinking and reaction to situations.

If you have a mind altering substance in your system, it's reasonable to conclude your actions and thought process may not have been clear.

Funny that the two common denominators in all of these police shootings of black men have been that all of the "victims" autopsies were positive for drugs AND all of them failed to comply with numerous orders. What a coincidence.

Without a doubt the single worst thing to happen to the African Americans besides the welfare system.

Nitto mention the mandatory arrest laws as well as sentencing laws.

So Yanez knew he was a criminal? At what point in a traffic stop are you sure that you've got a criminal? 20 seconds? Before you get out of the car?

Castile didn't fail to comply with an order. Nothing about his situation says any drug played a role in him being killed.

How can you even post this? This is the definition of jumping at straws.

He pulled over when he was signaled.

Castile had his daughter and wife in the car.

He was surrounded by a cop on both sides of his car.

Why would he tell an officer he has a gun? That drastically lowers any chance of a successful attack.

• As late as 1910 more than two-thirds of the black population of Chicago lived in neighborhoods where most residents were white.
• In 1950, 72 percent of all black men and 81 percent of black women had been married.
• Every census from 1890 to 1950 showed that black labor force participation rates were higher than those of whites.
• Prior to the 1960’s the unemployment rate for black 16 and 17-year olds was under 10 percent.
• Before 1960, the number of teenage pregnancies had been decreasing; both poverty and dependency were declining, and black income was rising in both absolute and relative terms to white income.
• In 1965, 76.4 percent of black children were born to married women.

Do you think we are more racist now than before 1960? That would be a bold claim
