You do understand the difference between two words in a sentence vs. a complete thought expressed in the thread title?
your entire thread turns on the premise that the folk art jacket constitutes “mocking Jesus.” That is a false premise. Thus, the entire concept falls apart.

Here we go again with "art."

Like kids in bondage, with black eyes, tied up and cramped up naked in suitcases is considered "art." See what I did there?

So your take on this is that both were seen as equally positive by the media and just one was blanked out and the other wasn't? Either it was an accident the headband was blanked or an accident the jacket wasn't blanked?

I though that was Spongebob on his jacket.

Dude died and he's mocking God after coming back?

Hmm. That won't end well.

By "media", do you mean one source? One news channel or article makes up "the media"?

Are conservative and religious news services part of "the media"?

In these posts, I am not addressing the headband at all.

I am simply saying that Hamlin was not "mocking Jesus," just because he chose a depiction of Jesus different than you would have chosen.

OK, let's analyze the OP's premise that the "Mainstream Media" has a policy of "block(ing) out" positive references to Jesus (while encouraging "mocking" Him).

The OP presents an image in which PhotoShop has been used to remove the words "100% Jesus" from a headband. First, who is this person? A Brazilian soccer player named Neymar, who was a finalist for the Ballon d'Or (the "Golden Ball," FIFA's highest individual honor).

The image is NOT something generated by the "Mainstream Media," but is something generated by FIFA itself as part of a video associated with the award process. Why would FIFA remove the lettering? FIFA has SEVERAL policies designed to keep religion (all religion) out of the game.
quote:

The FIFA Code of Ethics says people linked to the organisation “may not offend the dignity or integrity of a country, private person or group of people through contemptuous, discriminatory or denigratory words or actions on account of race, skin colour, ethnic, national or social origin, gender, language, religion, political opinion or any other opinion, wealth, birth or any other status, sexual orientation or any other reason.”
quote:

The Laws of the Game from the International Football Association Board (IFAB) state, “Equipment must not have any political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images” (Law 04.5). FIFA's Equipment Regulations add that this includes a ban on any “political or comparable symbol” (Article 8.3).
So, it would appear that FIFA is simply applying to Christian symbolism the same rule that applies to all other religious and/or political symbolism.

In short, FIFA is enforcing a policy which applies equally to the symbolism of ALL religions. In any case, FIFA altered the image, NOT the "Mainstream Media."

Hank, keep stoking that fire of the ongoing culture war.
Truman, what "fires" am I stoking?

I am simply showing that the OP is utter nonsense. First, the "censorship" of Neymar's headband was objectively NOT undertaken by the Mainstream Media, as the OP claims. Second, the Jesus image on the jacket does not "mock" Him in the slightest, as indicated by the fact that the person wearing the jacket is VERY religious.

If anyone is "stoking fires," it is the OP ... by promulgating Obviously & Objectively Fake News.

Mention Jesus and the Media will cut you off.

What happens when you mention God on live TV?
Good for you. Next time, use these examples as evidence of your point, rather than the utter BS found in the OP. That way, we can spend four pages addressing the merits of your POINT, rather than establishing that you are using FAKE NEWS as "evidence" supporting it.

The front of his jacket has a Bible verse on it. He's not mocking Jesus, in my opinion. The art work on the back is a little wierd, though, but not mocking.
Remember the Laughing Jesus art work that Larry Flynt released? Everyone lost their shite, but it only showed Jesus laughing..nothing wrong with that.
