The increase in cases is objectively bad for everyone. I really hope things dont get shut down again, but I see it being a real possibility for the hospitality industry.
Wrong

The majority cases in louisiana is now people under 40

That isnt going to lead to mass hospitalizations

I made a few additions to the tracker today.

On the US Dashboard Tab, I added 4 maps of the US broken down by Cases and Deaths, actual numbers and per capita.
On the By Capita & Growth Tabs, I added the Charts showing the data by state on the US map.
On the Previous US Dashboard tab, I added the US map charts there as well.

This is what they look like

On the State Dashboard tab, I added charts for Current Hospitalizations, ICU and Ventilators

Testing was 502K today, with a positivity rate of 7.7%. The positivity rate is up 2.8% from last week and 1.79% over the 7-day average.

Deaths @ 772 today up 19 from yesterday, down 56 from last Wednesday and 156 above the 7-day average.

Mortality is down to 4.88% and falling.

herman cain pointed out on social media earlier this evening covid19 deaths are at an all time low in the U.S.

unless deaths start spiking back up I don't see us shutting back down. I could see majority of states making masks mandatory for the remainder of the year

Deaths lag at least a week if not 10 days. I’d expect an uptick in deaths in early July.

I believe that some of the earlier reports stated that the average time to death was about 18 days.

So if it takes a minimum of 2 days to show symptoms you would be looking more around a 16 day lag at
the latest but probably more like 10-14.

Either way it seems like the majority of these new cases are younger folk and as we know. If you’re under the age of 49 you have an insanely low chance of dying

We shouldn’t shut down unless hospitals are over their surge capacity for a month.

ETA: and those shutdowns should be regionally based. Not even statewide.

7 day deaths rolling average has leveled off more than I’d like. But it’s not climbing.

Thank you

The COVID Tracking project has NJ's 1000+ questionable deaths included. So I'm editing those out for now and using the last 3 days average as today's number.

NJ added a bunch of "Probable" deaths into their numbers today, then promptly took them out (on WOM) so I'm doing the same.

It's fixed now, I used WoM's death number of 29 for NJ today.
