Anyone seeing the German uptick in cases in the data that the media is reporting?

Looks like this is the lowest deaths on a Wednesday since March.
New cases down.
Testing still over 200k.

Dude, JBE & Cassidy said they'll go to the people in vulnerable areas and test them. NOT saying that they shouldn't test but the numbers WILL go up which would be expected but they WILL use it to keep us slam shut.

That’s getting kind of irrelevant with a dump of 150 or so from Ohio. Who knows what other oddities are in the data.

Cases up day over day; however, the 7 day average is still in decline. Deaths down by only 79 from the Tuesday bump. Last week Wednesdays deaths were 325 below Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average for deaths is hovering around the upper 1900's for 3 days now.
230K tests with 27.5K positives for a 12% positive rate on the day. The cumulative % positive is still in decline and is down to 17.1%.
Mortality has started climbing again after spending a week at 5.6%.
There have been several posters in this thread talk about a curve with a long tail. I think we're seeing that.
Today COVID passed the official CDC number of flu deaths in each of the last 10 years.
I think we'll hit at least 100K deaths and could see more depending on the length of the tail.

The data from the start is bogus.
Imagine if we tested half of NY tonight.
The cases would shoot up 1000%

In the county I live in, Denton County, reports "onset of symptoms date" along with reported Covid-19 cases. The onset of symptoms started 14 days prior to any cases being confirmed. It jumped up to as high as 60 cases a day, and now has had only 4 new reports of onset of symptoms in the last 7 days, withe the last 4 consecutive days having zero reported new patients with symptoms.
Since the reports of cases and the reports of symptoms match, this would indicate that there will be a corresponding similar reduction in cases within the next week to ten days.
If you can report that statistic, it can show what we might be seeing in numbers a week of so out.

Someone needs to get some covid numbers calculated with a total infections number derived like they do with flu, from viral models. From every antibody test done so far it's clear that depending on region, somewhere between 10-30% of the population have had the virus already, so the denominator of these mortality numbers needs to be in the 10s of millions instead of the hundreds of thousands, then we will get a true picture.

Until the new cases plummet precipitously, we're going to see deaths merely trickle downward. From current levels, this is certainly feeling closer to an 80k death toll for the initial phase (and 100k by, say, September 30th). Which is in line with the low end of the "with full mitigation" projections, validating them to some degree.
We'll know more when new cases are in the mid/lower teens and deaths are in the 1200 to 1500 range again.
