Most Americans don’t know who Alexander Hamilton was. You really do talk a lot like a liberal intellectual. I’m sure you’re smarter than everyone you know, too.

I’ve never heard anyone articulate with such precision the motivation and attitude of the ruling class like this guy. If every conservative, or even anybody who truly loves this country would read this book, this country would be a much different place. He might be the greatest economic, political and social thinker in American history. Yet never is he mentioned during black history month nor in any conversation I’ve ever heard of about influential black Americans by anyone on the left.

There are two down votes on your OP….apparently some white supremacists can’t stand it when an intelligent and thoughtful black man has an opinion and writes a book ….lol

Not at all. One of the downvotes is mine. I love reading Sowell, and I have read probably 75-80% of what he has written. He is both incisive and accessible, which is rare.

But it is ridiculous to assert that he is “the greatest economic, political and social thinker in American history.”

You are lying...again.

He didn’t say that he “is.”

He said that he “might be.”

Tom Sowell

Are you calling him an "Uncle Tom"? Ha
Cause I've never heard him referred to in a public/professional way in any other way than 'Thomas Sowell'.

Not sure about greatest of all time, but the dude has great insight no doubt. Especially his take on the hypnotic affects of tig o' bitties.

Like the other poster said, I didn’t assert that he is definitively the greatest, but you seem to have a problem with misunderstanding or rather overstating arguments.

My degree is from the bush school of economics and I did my dissertation in labor economics. So I’ve read Hayek, Sowell, Marx, and everyone in between.

The takeaway from intellectuals like yourself is always that Sowell is uncomplicated, accessible, too easy to understand, blah blah blah. Yet all the complicated theories always, invariably get it wrong.

Janet Yellen has more degrees than you can shake a stick at and is touted as one of the most brilliant female economists ever, but this bitch can’t wrap her head around the fact that printing more money means inflation.

If your problem with Sowell is that he’s not complicated enough, then perhaps you are the fool.

Solid. That’s a very accurate description of what I’ve observed as well. Though you’ve worded it much better than I ever have.

Damn, you can’t turn it off. Spot on!
