shite, I swore it was Wolf Blitzer in Baghdad with Bernie Shaw; it was John Holliman.
He and Peter Arnett were actual dedicated journalists, as was Amanpour, and they'd take risks to get the story. Contrast that with Shaw, an anchor, who was paralyzed with fear during the attacks.

Over/under on how long it takes the IRGC to capture these CNN reporters and hold them hostage?

Iranians have been cut off from the world. Publishing narratives facilitated by the regime risks amplifying propaganda. Shame on you
I am in favor of reporting from war zones. The more information, the better.

Not sure what the big deal is.
During the cold war all the US Networks and big newspapers had Moscow represenation. In reverse, ITAR-Tass and Russian State TV had reporters in NY and Washington.
This isn't exactly a new thing.

Only one network was given access here…why do you think that is?

Ha!! This will be the most sympathetic publicity the islamic terrorists could ever want! CNN will show the new Ayatolla feeding ducks and eating ice cream. And interview 1000 women and children who claim that Americans are bombing their schools and that the regime treated them so kindly. (And CNN will make sure the gun pointed at their head is not on camera.)
This is about to become a complete joke.

Well, but it is. You see "back in the day" I was able to watch the Tieneman square massacre on TV live. The reporting today won't acknowledge a murdering regime just so they can have access. It is nothing close to the same today.

How does a regime shut down the internet for millions, yet still grant selective access to foreign media for “on-the-ground” reporting?
Because they know that CNN will say that the big bad Trump is slaughtering civilians

There’s plenty of international TV coverage there. As a matter of fact, if you want to see a lot more going on in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and other locations in Israel, international TV doesn’t censor anywhere close to what US coverage does.

They’ll blame Trump if a bomb falls on their head

But I can't blame CNN for taking the opportunity, simply for ratings.
Nobody is pissed that they took the gig. People are pointing out that THE REASON they were offered the gig is because they are anti-american.

It's clear that CNN is there to portray the Iranian government as poor, innocent victims who are being maliciously targeted by fascist rioters, usa and Israel.

Thinking about it, I wouldn't do it.
1, they're clearly going to be used as shields, which the Israelis at least might not respect. So you can still get blown up.
2, even if they spout the propaganda the IRGC wants, when things go bad there's a good chance they still kill them for being American infidels.
