quote:

“The tests in the hospital, they’re too short a period of time to get a scientific report,” Cuomo said. “Hospital administrators, doctors want to have a significant data set before they give a formal opinion. Anecdotally, you’ll get suggestions that it has been effective. But we don’t have any official data yet from a hospital or a quote-unquote study, which will take weeks if not months.”

He said the federal government would increase supplies to New York pharmacies, but that New York has imposed a 14-day limit to protect the supplies for people who rely on it to treat other medical conditions.

Fauci:
"The data are really just, at best, suggestive. There have been cases that show there may be an effect, and there are others to show there's no effect," Fauci said on CBS's "Face the Nation" Sunday. "So I think in terms of science, I don't think we could definitively say it works."

Hey Cuomo! Get off your arse and expand testing! What the hell are you waiting for? Is Fauci "advising " you? How's that working for Trump?

This guy has basically been all over the map with his pontificating of this virus thing. He's been like a mouse in a virus maze.

Geez has everybody suddenly discovered a cool new word? Anecdotally, I've never heard it used so much in all my life.

Can you imagine arguments in the back rooms about admitting that HCQ works with these fools? They don't want Trump vindicated. It's killing them.

Disagree. I've heard the word used a few times a week for my entire life. But I work in science in engineering where it's commonly used. Very common.

I'm guessing this means that preliminarily looking at the incomplete results show that hcq helps. Final results are not in however.

I don't understand why all this bullshite had to be said. Potentially a lot of people are doing that could've had a better chance to determine if the benefits are 33.6 percent or 33.8 percent.

Now if there results are questionable that is over thing. But if they are positive, and obvious do after just a week, I think it's almost wrong to continue to do the study.

You know what they call a whole bunch of anecdotes????

Data sets...

Again, in Fauci's mind -> no randomized control trial, no care. Keeping in mind he has nothing else to offer these folks and a fair percent will go on to die after a prolonged interval on a ventilator (waiting for the hope that never comes...). He completely misses the broader context of the situation he is in while trying to be an idealist (classic academician...)

It literally does not compute to him

"Anecdotal" is the new buzzword on the left. Just like racist, xenophobe, misogynist, homophobe, narcissist, white supremacist (I know that's two words) and on and on.

Now, when the evidence is inconvenient for the left, they just yell "anecdotal!" and suddenly whatever you show them is magically invalid.

Dear Governor Cuomo,
Chances are the results would have been just as positive three weeks ago had you not inserted your demented politics into the equation.

It's like that joke, where the guy is caught in a flood, on top of his roof, waiting for God to save him.

Well there is a lot more chances to use it right now.

Just an fyi what Cuomo was talking about is anecdotally but as soon as the numbers get officially reported it will change from anecdotal to scientific evidence. Doctors reporting official numbers is not anecdotal.

Exactly.

Precisely.

Everyone defending his "cautious scientific approach" misses the point right along with Fauci. There is NO alternative, at this time, and it isn't as if the drug, itself, is an unknown. Any concerns about whether there are any side effects to taking it for this particular virus would seem to be less important to the critical patients, whose alternative is almost certain death.

If I've just been shot and I'm bleeding profusely, and someone tries to wrap my wound with their shirt, I'm not going to say "wait, wait, wait, wait... is that shirt clean enough to wrap my wound with?"

It's idiotic how people are so hard up on a clinical trial.

Dr. Oz says to stop using the word "anecdotal". It works!
