The answer is simple. If you and/or your child have a medical condition in which it is not recommended to wear a mask, walk into Cosco with your phone recording audio/video. When the greeter demands you wear a mask explain that you have a medical condition in which wearing a mask is not recommended.

When they insist anyway, you inform them that the Americans with Disabilities Act prohibits businesses from refusing service to people because of medical issues/handicaps. If they still refuse to let you shop without a mask, bring the video to an attorney and sue them.

I wear a neck gaiter and feign the act of pulling it up as I walk past.

Uh, no.

The ADA does not require a business to ignore its own rules for you. It simply requires "reasonable accommodation." As to covid/masks, that usually takes the form of letting you sit in your car and them bringing your stuff out to you.

However I will say if you have a child with a condition which would prevent her from wearing a mask, then perhaps she shouldn’t be out and about until people are done with the mask requirements.

This has been going on for almost a year. You think a child should be basically a shut-in for a year?

For effs sake this has been a damn farce and now that Trump is out they are starting to admit it but undoing the fear porn is going to take a long long time.

Really? So did stores bring stuff out to the cars of people in wheelchairs, or did they have to spend big bucks to install handicap ramps, and refit bathrooms, etc so those people in wheelchairs could do their own shopping in the store?

Stores cannot just make any "policy" they want. Let a store make a policy that they only serve white people. See how that flies in court.

Don’t like their rules? Don’t shop there. Easy as that. I think it is a stupid arse rule to force 3 year olds to wear mask but it is their prerogative.

So a policy to discriminate against those with medical conditions is acceptable because it is policy?

Tell the bakery that it is their call to have a policy to not make certain cakes. How did that work out?

If you feel so strongly, why don’t you (a) leave your three-year-old at home, or (b) shop somewhere else?

Because masks are bullshite, don't work, and we people with sense don't want to be forced into wearing them to shop where we want.

Why? Because letting that slide, will become don't complain about ANYTHING or you won't be able to shop, get a job, etc.

Wheelchair access is a completely different issue under the Act. It dealt mostly with new construction and specific remodels.

I told the lady at Rouses that I have a medical condition where I have 3 legs, so I get short on breath easy and can’t wear a mask.

Wife wasn’t happy.
