Can we wait and see if this malaria drug is a confirmed cure before we give away the farm? Crap, if that’s announced, it will remedy 1/2 of the mess we’re in right off the bat.

a tax credit for the total amount as long as it doesn't exceed their total tax liabilities.

And it looks like you can't carry it forward or apply it to the next quarter.

So if I’m following you get a credit to offset the employer portion of social security and Medicare on all wages equal to the total wages paid under the bill for each quarter. Doesn’t seem to help the employer much depending on the situation, especially if the credit is limited only to the quarter in which the wages were paid.

Well I was incorrect about the amount of credit claimed; it can exceed the tax liability and is refundable.
quote:

(3) REFUNDABILITY OF EXCESS CREDIT.—If the amount of the credit under subsection (a) exceeds the limitation of paragraph (2) for any calendar quarter, such excess shall be treated as an overpayment that shall be refunded under sections 6402(a) and 6413(b) of such Code.
And it looks like employer health plan expenses increases the allowable amount of credit as well.
quote:

(1) IN GENERAL.—The amount of the credit allowed under subsection (a) shall be increased by so much of the employer’s qualified health plan expenses as are properly allocable to the qualified family leave wages for which such credit is so allowed.
So it seems to me with a fully refundable tax credit, then at the very least, it doesn't harm the employer to pay the sick and/or FMLA leave, since it's fully refundable.

Maybe we should stop their senate paychecks for everyone who voted "no" What a disgrace

china didn't shut down our economy and ruin the stock market, we did that to ourselves by letting the swamp dwellers lead us right off a cliff while applauding how proactive we were being.

the real crime is trump allowed his kingdom to be held prisoner by fear thinking chicken little was right and the sky is falling

china was the cause of the outbreak but the global over reaction was the globalists doing and they got just what they wanted, destroy the American economy and make trump look weak
