The Covid-19 outbreak in Los Angeles County is far more widespread than previously thought, up to 55 times bigger than the number of confirmed cases, according to new research from the University of Southern California and the L.A. Department of Public Health.
USC and the health department released preliminary study results that found that roughly 4.1% of the county’s adult population has antibodies to the coronavirus, estimating that between 221,000 adults to 442,000 adults in the county have had the infection.
This new estimate is 28 to 55 times higher than the 7,994 confirmed cases of Covid-19 reported to the county in early April. The number of coronavirus-related deaths in the county has now surpassed 600, according to the Department of Public Health. The data, if correct, would mean that the county’s fatality rate is lower than originally thought.

Is it really an outbreak if 99% of the people that got it didn't know they even had it?

So I think these tests test for igm antibodies, not igg. Igg are three immediate response were igm are the long lasting ones that can take up to three weeks to appear.
Given many of these people that were tested we possibly infected but had had igm antibodies yet, the number may be higher.
That given the test is likely somewhat prone to false positives secondary to cross reactivity to some other Corona antibodies.
So as a way we can say 50 times higher.
So new York City is pretty heavily infected.

Let’s make sure they get added to the denominator when the media ghouls and Dims do their death percentages.

So the REAL mortality rate is __?

This again? There’s some serious problems with that article, not the least of which is that statistically, the margin of error in the test could account for all of the assumed symptom free cases. I’ve seen the critique posted here more in several other threads.

Ruining people's lives over this is such bs.

Agree.

No shite. We’ve been told this from day one. 80% of the people who are infected show little not no symptoms. So we can assume if 250,000 people test positive 1 million more people are walking infected but don’t know it.

This virus is the biggest liberal hoax of all time.

We should send them a bunch of these masks.

Get ready to be told how this research is crap and faulty.
Good news though for sane people.

Shouldn’t you be more worried about the accuracy of your testosterone tests low Tboy? Consistently being in single digits should worry you.

Understand what this study is saying. It's not 4:1...it's 55:1. In other words, it's 98% show little to no symptoms.
This would be a game breaking revolution.
