But women want it both ways. Which is funny because basically the feminist position on this is that men are superior to women. Think about it. They're basically saying that men should be held to a higher standard if they get themselves drunk then we're going to hold women too. If a man gets drunk he still needs to be able to decipher if the woman really really wants to have sex. He still needs to be able to decipher if she's crossed the legally drunk threshold or not even though he's not walking around with a breathalyzer in his pocket. And if he gets any of that wrong feminist want his arse in jail. Meanwhile once the woman starts drinking it's literally an accountability free zone

Im sorry yu were born too late and weren't able to make rape accusations against the guys who screwed you and never called you back.
Being a drunk slut is not the same as being a rape victim. Its simply being a drunk slut.

Would you say both the young men and young woman were raped in this scenario? Would prosecution even be possible if everyone was incapacitated?
Define incapacitated. Are we talking she says she wants to have sex, gets undressed and then passes out and he proceeds to have sex with her unconscious body? Just want to clarify terms.

quote:There simply needs to be one standard. In this instance, the double standard is glaring.
It seems like there needs to be a discreet or secret court or law enforcement unit to investigate rapes or sexual assaults.
All the men's names have been released. It already cost one his job. Meanwhile, the woman remains anonymous. The presumption is one of guilt until proven innocent for men, and innocence regardless of guilt for women. It is absurd.
Think in terms of the disadvantaged folks for whom you've worked and advocated. Then additionally apply this disabling double standard. If one your people with basically no resources had been zapped in a Duke style case, or in this one, they'd be cooked.

I have a lot of thoughts about this but they're all over the place and hard to organize. I don't support or condone false accusations of any kind. I do support penalties for people making them. I understand there is no taking back the damage caused by false accusations.
Sexual assaults create wounds that cannot heal. I realize that most here will disagree with me but there is a culture of tolerance and normalization around objectifying women and touching them, speaking to them and speaking about them inappropriately in this country. I had the only panic attacks I've ever had in my life when my daughter was about 6 months old, because I could foresee all the unwanted groping, touching, provocations, etc. in her future and the realization that I couldn't protect her from that was debilitating. And I'm someone who grew up pretty sheltered and who has always dressed fairly modestly.
The polarity of either assuming every woman who makes an accusation is a slut and liar, and every man who is accused is a choir boy is also uncomfortable. None of this helps anything. It's like outrage farming for engagement and advertisers.
The narratives here are also unabashedly anti-women. If the posters here are representative of typical thought... how comfortable can anyone be raising a daughter in this country and climate?

Red head. She is out there on x. She is getting dragged on the internet. I don't think she is ugly but she isn't super hot either

Not sure if this is her. Tracey is an a-hole, but a good journalist at times. For some reason, he decided to go to war with much of social media and threatened to out her.

The frat fricks were doing ketamine. I'm guessing they're not the Upright Citizens Brigade sort. A bunch of rich slime ball druggies aren't going to have scruples.
BUT. Based on what I've seen, this is regret not rape. It's a tale as old as time.
Anyone ever see To Kill a Mockingbird?

That’s not true. I’m a sexual abuse survivor and healing can happen. As a matter of fact, I feel that I’m a more empathetic person for having been through that and it’s allowed me to be a light to others by the grace of god. Furthermore, as a person who has experienced the negative end of being abused in that manner, I still stand for what is right and true. No one is saying these men made wise or moral decisions. The argument, though, is that they don’t deserve to have their lives ruined and be labeled sex offenders if the facts don’t support that conclusion. People are tired of women being sexually assaulted but they’re also tired of the Duke Lacrosse, Trevor Bauer, etc situations that arise. You can absolutely be pro-women and anti-false allegations.

How comfortable can any parent be for their sons that at any time they can be accused of being a predator and they’ll likely be convicted in the court of public opinion, facts be damned?

quote:Cubs, women flourish in that culture, and they always have. I know that bothers you. It shouldn't. It is what it is.
there is a culture of tolerance and normalization around objectifying women
That does not remotely mean a dude is not interested in settling down with a less physically beautiful partner .... John with Yoko. But beauty is superficially attractive to men (and to women). Charlie Sheen ... I don't pay them for sex. I pay them to leave. Crude? Sure. But it is what it is.
Make no mistake, men with money experience similar 'objectification.' Money (or the perceived capacity to make it), and the inherent support it implies, is attractive to women. Oh, the stories I could tell.
Anyway, those are evolutionary and instinctive behaviors IMO. Women seek relationships, while men seek sex, for the those reasons.
Expecting either to completely overcome those instincts is unrealistic. Such expectations are analogous to expecting the world's best female soccer team to outperform a boy's 8th grade all-star team, or expecting a dude to outperform women on the balance beam or parallel bars.
So the challenge is not how to negate instinctual biological behavior, and manipulate men to be more like women or women to be more like men. It is how to acknowledge sexual differences and cooperatively advance socially.

Woke up after a drunken night, was gangbanged, filed a report after coming to because she was ashamed of her actions and was ridiculed. Sounds like regret more than anything.

It doesn’t have to though. I was 7 years old the first time I was abused and it continued over a period of the next 5 years. I’m not destroyed. I can love. I can trust. I have a great wife. I can have sex without shame. I’m empathetic and treat people well. The worst chapter of your story, especially a chapter you didn’t write, doesn’t have to define you. God can restore more than people think.
