Conservatism is not an ideology. It’s about preserving a way of life

Conservatism is simply “conserving” what is good, true, and beautiful.

It’s not about being married to some ideology and worshiping the process above the good of the people

If the process isn’t working anymore, maybe because the process became corrupted and manipulated over so many years that is nothing more than a husk of what it once was supposed to be, then at some point you just discard it and start it over fresh.

America has never been perfect, but all true Americans understand the kind of country our forefathers who fought and bled for us, envisioned for their future generations.

And it isn’t anything representative of what you see in any decently sized urban area these days

I simply go wherever the truth leads me. Labels are irrelevant to me. For example, here are a couple of my honest views which would not be considered conservative:

1) I give credit to the Left for being correct with regards to both the Vietnam and Iraq wars. Johnson used the false narrative of the Gulf of Tonkin incident to persuade Congress to pass the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which served the same purpose as a declaration of war. Same thing with the invasion of Iraq. Bush and Cheney lied in order to justify that action.

2) Regarding the invasion of Iraq, I also agree that Bush is a war criminal. Cheney was, too.

It should never be about labels or agendas. It should always be about TRUTH. Go where you think the truth leads you.

I think conservatism means protecting what has been proved through history to work well, and declining the flavor of the month 'solution' for problems that dont exist.

A truth after the settled fact is safer than pursuing truth in the moment. Were you giving credit to the left at the time?

Therein lies the rub, if we're redefining what "conservative" means (and people are being honest).

True conservatives realize that all of our rights are God given. So the ultimate decision for conservatives is whether these rights can be subject to the whims of an increasingly ungodly electorate.

If people continue to vote to cede these rights, those of us who realize and worship their true origin are left with no option other than to remove the system by which this happens.

I pray that won't be done at the business end of weapons, but I am pretty confident it will be.

Conservatism is simply a recognition of human nature. We work harder to benefit ourselves and our family. We avoid work for the benefit of 'the collective'. Govt. cannot change human nature.

I agree 100% with this. I believe that ultimate truth always flows from God.

It's worse than that. Our most important elections are selections and they are not chosen by the people. The fix will not be pleasant.

Passive conservativism is no match for virulent cultural Marxism.

Conservatives who want to get wine tasting invites and sit at the cool kid table are ill equipped for the kulturkampf.

The unfortunate result is that radicalism will arise in place of principled conservatism that hasn’t conserved anything.
