Take it away from the political parties. This and ending the federal reserve should be priorities well ahead of fricking Iran or Ukraine.

?? HOLY CRAP. A new Congressional map has been drawn that shows what happens to America when districts are COMPACT, fair in shape, account for actual population, without gerrymandering 280 REPUBLICANS 156 Democrats. A law-dropping GOP majority ???? And DEMOCRATS have been cheating for decades. Not just the VRA race districts that have been abolished — but cheating the GOP out of fair seats We MUST keep redrawing! Restore fair maps! Map by @JeremiahW2044

Looks a lot like the map after the last Presidential election.

Still safe to say Republicans would be pretty heavily favored.

Who drew the map?

I believe AI was used, maybe Grok.

We need to gradually make this happen.

I do agree though I would love for the US to take Kharg Island and keep 35% of all revenue until all cost associated with Iranian activity, including their proxies, to America for the past 47 years are completely recovered, including the interest at an APR of 18%

Those two downvoters in OPs message look just as small as the Democrats they shill for.

This districting is an odd problem honestly. The country votes give or take 50/50 dem and rep.
280 seats for republicans is not objectively fair. That would be 65% representation for 50% of voters.
That being land does not vote, people do. These districts make it to where some people can never be represented properly . Like those northeast states with 0 republican representation. And the heavy black districts in the south disenfranchise republican voters because of wonky districts.
It really an extremely imperfect system than needs to be totally modernized.

Every one of these maps you see lately are basing the red and blue off of the last election. These things can change over time.

We live our republic’s don’t we folks!

I’d like to believe this, but in order to do so I’d have to think that an electorate that splits close to 50/50 in most elections would happen to carve up to a 64/36 republican advantage. I’d bet my house that isn’t true.
ETA: From ChatGPT:
In seat terms (out of 435 seats), many analyses suggest that objectively drawn maps would often produce something roughly like:
* Republicans: about 218–223 seats
* Democrats: about 212–217 seats
— assuming national vote totals similar to recent elections.
A major 2022 academic study using thousands of simulated neutral district maps found that partisan gerrymandering itself only gave Republicans about 2 extra seats nationally on average in the post-2020 maps.
