Freedom of Speech. It's yours. You're exercising it right now. But it doesn't come with immunity from the consequences. If you make public posts on social media, whether in written or video form, you become a publisher. If you are merely caught on video or in writing making some statement on social media, you've been published.

If you are employed, in America, you are employed as an at-will employee working for an at-will employer. At any point they can choose to end the employment, just like you. If you're being publicly published or a publisher, you are a representative of your employer, and your behavior directly reflects upon them if you can be tied to them in any way. It is in every single employment contract from being the CEO of a Fortune 500 company to stocking salad bar condiments at Wendy's.

If you publish stupid shite and your employer starts catching hell about it because it can make them look bad, they can and usually will terminate the employment agreement. Your employer didn't force you to post dumb shite and go full retard... you did that on your own. They merely reacted because they were very publicly pressured to do so, and would likely face very negative PR if they chose to ignore the issue from- wait for it- other people, potential customers and critics, who are exercising their own First Amendment rights. Their right to free speech.

I really hope this summation clears things up so you can let go of this talking point that you keep repeating and making yourself look like an ignorant dolt.
