What in the hell is wrong with McCain. This is odd.
Holy crap, he might have stolen the spotlight. I hope the reporters surround him after this.

quote:I don't have a problem with age 80 and beyond IF the person can think on his feet and elucidate his thoughts well, which is something McCain was unable to do in this hearing. Some of you might recall my post about meeting with and having dinner with Walt Cunningham, the Apollo 7 astronaut. He's 84 years old. sharp as a tack, drives a Corvette Z7, travels the world and lectures, is on multiple NASA committees and generally someone I would trust to get things done. I've had lunch with him twice since then, and this guy doesn't forget a thing or slow down.
age 80 and serving our country? i mean cmon
So, don't let age blind you to effectiveness. Oliver Wendell Holmes serves as Acting Chief Justice until he was a month shy of 91.

best quote imo
quote:
The reason this is such a big deal is we have this big messy wonderful country where we fight with each other all the time, but nobody tells us what to think, what to fight about, what to vote for except other Americans. And that's wonderful and often painful. But we're talking about a foreign government using technical intrusion and lots of other methods tried to shape the way we think, we vote, we act. That is a big deal. And people need to recognize it. It's not about Republicans or Democrats. They're coming after America, which I hope we all love equally. They want to undermine our credibility in the face of the world. They think that this great experiment of ours is a threat to them, and so they're going to try to run it down and dirty it up as much as possible.
That's what this is about. They will be back, because we remain, as difficult as we can be with each other, we remain that shining city on the hill, and they don't like it.

Great post.
Now why do we interfere in other nations elections?
Why did our own government (DHS) try to interfere in this past election?

McCain isn't even a member of the Intelligence Committee, but because he is chairman of the Armed Forces Cmte he is allowed to attend IC sessions. His purpose today is to get his face on TV. I'm not sure if he is also trying to push a narrative or an agenda, because he is confusing the hell out of everyone.

Then why aren't they investigating George Soros & his minions? They are trying to undermine America...

The "Swamp " will not drain until congressional term limits and lobby reform are passed.

I can't read this whole thread. I am coming in after the testimony after watching it.
Has anybody concluded what was wrong with McCain? He said there was a double standard with Clinton and Trump. Yet seemed lost in thought.

I'd say, based on his performance today, McCain is at about 10:00am and this will only continue to get worse for him. That was sad to see.

That's the bottom line. If he thought it was obstruction, and he didn't report it, he broke the law.
quote:
And he is trying to weasel out of that by claiming to be a fortune teller. He said he didn't tell Sessions (as required by law) because he "knew" Sessions was going to recuse himself 2 weeks later.
Which is comical at best.
If he honestly thought Sessions was going to recuse himself, then he can't claim at the same time that he didn't pass it on because he felt his boss was going to be partisan.
It would have made the most sense to pass it on especially if Sessions might recuse himself since that would have made it an official record.

Meh, leaders of other countries constantly tell us who to vote for in our elections and lefties constantly tell us to listen to those leaders of other countries when deciding who to vote for.
If anyone is colluding with the Russians, it's the Dums and other lefties who have appeared as guests on RT or have their own program on RT in which they trash the results of the 2016 presidential election and the legitimately elected POTUS
