Um...Ivy League grads usually don't go to mid tier.
That's they don't know. They aren't at top tier
They will go wherever the jobs are taking them. Goldman takes about 100 analysts per year - where are the other thousands of Ivy grads going when a few top tier banks can only take 10% of them?
And yes, even the Goldmans and JPs of the world will take kids out of UNC, UVA, Notre Dame, Williams, Swarthmore, Northwestern, Cal, UCLA, etc, etc.

My cousin graduated from Harvard with a Chemistry & Physics major and econ minor. He interned at Credit Suisse in NY before his junior (maybe senior?) yr, and got offered a position with them strait out of undergrad. Wasn't making 200, but around 150-160K, but hours were brutal. Eventually quit and is now working on his phd in physics. His story isn't exactly rare.
With his bonus he probably would have been close to 200k, right?
It's a pretty common story.
I'm surprised more people aren't agreeing, truthfully.

Bonus included...something that can swing wildly depending on both the firm's and your own performance.
Yes, the hours are brutal.

I'm a true conservative who believes in small government and free market principles and generally socially liberal but it's only bc the GOP gives out Jesus juice to get their base in a row.
So with your post history in mind, you're like a Newsroom's Will McAvoy kind of conservative/republican?
Good to know.

Just saw that.. I thought to myself, this MUST be a joke.
Sadly, I was mistaken.
I thought law school was supposed to stress the importance of the judicial system.

Megyn Kelly said the same thing bout what a rude awakening these future lawyers have if they get upset over something like this. She kept giving a look of total disbelief & shaking her head & laughing. She practiced law before getting into tv, & was comical in her reactions.

Oh yes. These future lawyers won't be prepared for the real world. Best they stampede out of Columbia to LSU. The pay scale proves a Columbia degree is worthless.

I'm laughing so hard at this stupidity that I can not breathe.

I'll take "Groups that want to be treated equally...unless they can benefit from being different" for $ 1000, Alex.
