If you graduate from an ivy - no matter your degree - you could have studies 18th century turd poetry - Wall Street is still knocking at your door for an entry level job starting at 200k.

Fact.

Seems like the market doesn't have a problem with Columbia and how it runs itself.

Who's saying they can't? We are saying it's P.C., stupid, ridiculous, pathetic, etc...

Should make for a rude awakening once they get in front of a Federal Judge and gripe about their feelings. Although I'm sure they all still harbor plans to practice Con Law and public interest law.

You are correct in that it is a private university and it can do what it wants.

However, I would still never hire one of those soft pussies.

I feel you, but something tells me these grads won't struggle much to find very nice employment LINK

Haha...um, no.

If you do well and/or are pretty well-connected, you can draw about 100K right out of school being some b***h analyst at an IB or one of the big 3 in consulting, but virtually no one is drawing that kind of salary right out of undergrad, especially in this labor market.

Man, you sure seem intent to jerk off the free market when literally no one else is saying anything anti-market at all.

The libertarian obsession with the free market borders on maniacal sometimes.

Read Kevin roose's book young money.

This is what an Ivy League ed does.

The MNF game is only going to add fuel to the fire. Green Bay, which is 78% white, is thrashing Atlanta, a majority black city.

These traumatized bastards may never be able to take a test again.

I already read it.

Still, not one person has mentioned the free market and yet you felt the need to inject it in the convo. It's like the end-all, be-all for you libertarians. The infallible Holy Grail

I've worked in, with, and around Wall Street firms for several years now. My best friend and my brother are both analysts at mid-tier banks - one in Chicago and one in New York. I don't have to read a book to tell me what I saw and see with my own two eyes. I am pretty sure I know what I'm talking about here.

Um...Ivy League grads usually don't go to mid tier.

That's they don't know. They aren't at top tier.

Which is not true.

I'm a true conservative who believes in small government and free market principles and generally socially liberal but it's only bc the GOP gives out Jesus juice to get their base in a row.

And I pronounce that last word as row as in cow not row as in bow.

That might be the best indicator of where I stand.

My cousin graduated from Harvard with a Chemistry & Physics major and econ minor. He interned at Credit Suisse in NY before his junior (maybe senior?) yr, and got offered a position with them strait out of undergrad. Wasn't making 200, but around 150-160K, but hours were brutal. Eventually quit and is now working on his phd in physics. His story isn't exactly rare.

I mean what in the actual frick. I would shite talk my generation, but once again it's the elder generations (the dean) that let my generation be a bunch of sniveling wimps. Treat them like adults and they might start acting like adults.
