I enjoy white leftists' kids getting screwed.
They have always been big on volunteering other peoples' kids for equity solutions.
The way they expect it to work is for virtue signaling for others' kids while legacies still cover theirs.

It's already being asked, not necessarily just for POC, because all sorts of intersectionality mental illness can also get you a preference.
The example I heard was for for something very technical, like coding, the interview process has begun to include some practical knowledge tests. Just trusting the Degree/School Name no longer works because of this lunacy.

The rot has been happening for decades. Only recently has it been discovered. These “elite” universities have been passing on the best candidates based on race and socioeconomic status for a long time. The goal is not to admit the best students. The goal is to pump out as many liberal arts majors of the correct race as possible.

Sorry, but I seriously doubt this. Not saying it is not uber competitive these days, but to have stats like that and end up in junior college doesn't pass the smell test. I have a daughter who is as white and as privileged as it gets and her stats are not as good. She got into to ALL of her safeties (UT, Bham Southern). All offered her substantial money to attend. We will find out about Florida today, even though it's not a safety.
For "reach" schools she is batting about 25% so far, but the bulk of decisions for top 20 schools won't come out for another 4-6 weeks.
Our biggest hurdle will be the vaccine mandate, and mom and dad feel very strongly about this so it will be a very difficult conversation to have.

If she only applied to Cali schools, and that's what it sounds like, it could easily be true. I don't think anybody would claim she can't get into Ole Miss (or a lot of state schools) with those scores.

And if you're right in the middle, the decision could go either for a variety of reasons. Maybe she didn't take that many AP classes, or maybe her high school isn't regarded very well, or maybe she had so-so teacher recs. No one really knows what pushes an application from acceptance to rejection.
I'm not going to argue the reality of this "diversity" push. It is real. It is wrong, and it is punishing middle/upper class white kids (males in particular). ALL schools are more competitive now than they were when we went. My point was that, with stats like that, she would have NO problem getting accepted into a true safety school.

And I don’t care what color you are, or what boxes you check, outside of athletic scholarships, C students aren’t getting accepted at Berkeley and Stanford. Lots of exaggeration in that woman’s comment.

My brother tutors high performing kids at the best high schools in the country in NOVA. A guy he just started tutoring in physics (my brother didn't help him with essays and apps), is a dot Indian that scored in the 1500s, a 4.3 GPA got turned down for UVA.
A Hispanic female with a SAT in the 1250 range at the same school with a high GPA, but padded af (not taking the harder AP courses) is getting accepted into damn near every Ivy. Of course she's taking full advantage of the "Test Optional" bullshite. The whole thing is a fricking sham.
My brother really busts his arse to help his students with their essays and college admission process. And he just does the tutoring as a side gig.

And you're wrong, some of this is pretty damned new. You think not looking at SAT scores is "nothing new?" You think schools having suites of people who do nothing but DEI is "nothing new?"
