Allen West was a congressman down here in Palm Beach County. When redistricting occurred, the local Republican party (a hugely RINO operation) cut a deal with Democrats to frick him over. A conservative is bad enough but a black conservative? The RINOs couldn't have that. He ran for a different district but the die was cast. He lost a close race. Don't blame him for moving away.

I bet you get your news from Rachel Sadcow and other MSNBC Gaslighters.

You've only been around for a couple of years, coming in when West had pretty much moved out of the media spotlight. It's likely you are too new to politics to know him, so I'm not going to rail on you like the other posters have.
West is a retired Army LTC who served in both US wars in the Middle East (Kuwait and Iraq). After retiring (due to "torture" -notice the quotation marks- of an Iraqi policeman) he went to work as a coach for a few years before running for Congress. He (a black man) was one of the early adopters of the Tea Party movement, which was a move that pissed off liberals as they had tried to brand it as racist movement. Along with that, he was one of the early black Republicans to publicly call out black Democrats as trying to keep blacks "on the plantation".
He's a strong conservative black man and can be a firebrand against progressives, especially in how the Democratic Party is only interested in the black community only during election cycles. Because of this, the media often avoids him (especially since he left DC).

BUT it's hard to ignore the fact that he's a carpetbagger. I know people on here like him because he's a black token conservative who says all the right things. But I just can't trust anyone who moves from one place to the next in hopes of cracking back into public office. People like sometimes are in it for their own self interest and can't be trusted. Something just isn't adding up with that guy.
A lot of people aren’t from the places they might represent.
Ted Cruz is an example of this in Texas.

Got famous for firing a gun in Iraq while interrogating an Iraqi.
If he put on a dress, called himself xhey, and took it in the arse, you'd be falling over in affirmation of this great leader of the Armed Forces.

This is not the place to discuss your homoerotic fantasies. Not sure the OT is either.

The first time I heard of Col. Allen West was a sound recording in a barroom in Florida when West was running for Rep. Rush may have ran it on his Show. It was a straight up "grab your pitchforks (I.e., guns) and head to DC to throw out the Obama Leftists. I think that sound recording was buried as it buried West for any DC interim political viability. Albeit he gained street cred for what has now become a more peaceful, populist counter rebellion against what has since been proven to be a criminally corrupted Dem Party Fascist hegemony.
As the Military is brought back into allegiance to serve its CONSTITUTIONAL Oath of "God-given inalienable Rights", West will gain even more respect. Albeit he will not welcomed back into formal power, for obvious reasons, unless or until the Left takes it to the streets at some point of desperation.

How about bringing some back in a consultant manner? Find a way to revert the military to ore-obama era. Maybe even to wherever it started going bad. Help train the younger leaders in ways it should be.
