this is sort of what I think -
I am still not convinced that switching to Michelle is out of the question.
My original position was they'd wait til the very last moment to 'install' her - so she would have to do anything but wave to the adoring public.
This intermediate step of pushing Kamala out there is still confusing to me - That is one thing I never even considered.

I don’t see how another switch is a winner at this point. Biden was losing. Kamala hasn’t made any inroads despite the push polling out there claiming the opposite. I don’t see a divisive figure such as Big Mike being thrown out there at the last second and making a major push in Pennsylvania, Michigan, etc, where the election is going to be won.
I think they want to effectively concede Trump is winning, work on the down ticket races, and hope and pray he doesn’t have massive coattails to bring in decent majorities in both houses.

All Trump has to do is to mention this as an aside, in tonight's debate. He can state it as an assertive fact and challenge the usual 'disinformation, fact checkers' to deny what is now easily verifiable in the public record. Let them, Kamala and CNN further discredit themselves.
