Won't bother linking to the article, they don't need the clicks.

But, CNN doing their best impression of the famous 16 cent BBQ Fourth of July savings message from '21.

I'm sure they cherry picked a few items. Certainly, anything with eggs isn't included.

But what about 2 years ago? That's what normal people are comparing things to

Based on what? The USDA is already forecasting at least another 4%-5% increase in food prices for 2023. That's on top of last year's increases.

Likely they're trying to stance it as "the rate of price increases have dropped". Big. fricking. Deal. Getting shot in the face 4 times instead of getting shot in the face 11 times is still getting shot in the face multiple times.

No goofy picture of a bunch of stuff that nobody who's actually hosted a meal for people would ever serve, no care.

So we're all gonna save $1.25 on the food for our Super Bowl parties but gasoline is back to $3.20/gallon so we're still losing ground? Seems so.

The silver lining when your party invite list is reduced “suddenly”.

Not if your serving deviled eggs. A dozen eggs will run you $5 to $7.
