If Scalise does that he's dumber than Higgins. He's Majority Leader in the House.....and he will keep that position( Leader)even if Republicans were to somehow lose the House.

I don't know, man. I remember probably a year or so ago when this board had turned on Scalise, calling him establishment. It was crazy to see.

Scalise would win and he'd rocket up the committees and be a big force in the senate. His congressional district will 100% replace him with another conservative. I say go for it, let's get rid of Cassidy.

He is a big wig in the house but the GOP may see that as a hat on a hat given the speaker is also from LA.

Jeff Landry is an absolute moron and we need to put a lot of our attention on replacing him with another conservative.

He's a do nothing grandstander. If Landry could do one thing that would help all Louisianans, it would be to push the state legislature on tort reform. He is a huge disappointment. Richard Nelson was the best choice.

If no solid candidate runs against him, I suspect the seat would flip blue. There are too many people that will refuse to vote for him. I don't think he will make it on a "hold your nose and vote R" campaign that he will have to run.
I'd vote Democrat in a heartbeat to get Cassidy out.
I'd rather the wolf be honest than be a slimy Pharma a-hole dressed in sheep's clothing.

Me too. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I won't make that mistake again.

Jeff Landry will NEVER do that.

frick Jeff Landry.

Jeff Landry is a moron and an embarrassment to conservatives. I never saw what people loved so much about him, even from the days where he ran for Attorney General. He was and still is a dick.

March 28, 2020 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C.—House Republican Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) joined Fox News Channel's The Story with Martha MacCallum last night and Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends this morning to discuss how the CARES Act will deliver much-needed relief to families, small businesses, and healthcare workers across the country.

Whip Scalise also discussed the alarming increase of Coronavirus cases in Louisiana, and how targeted relief in the CARES Act will provide support for our hospitals and heroic front-line healthcare workers, along with Louisiana's state and local governments.

Just list whomever on the ballot as "Cassidy Replacement (R)" and I will vote for them.

This. All the big $$ is settling behind Cassidy. Wouldn’t be surprised if Jeff endorses. Unfortunately it looks like it’s over.

We need to get behind one Republican challenger. We don’t need several splitting the vote that will allow Cassidy to get Democrats to switch over and vote for him and make him the Republican nominee.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I THINK the new closed primary law states that the party nominee must when the primary with 50%+1. If no one gets that the first go-round, then there's a primary runoff between the top two vote getters.

So even if there ends up being 15 GOP candidates who run, Cassidy would have to face one of them in a primary runoff, at least in my unprofessional opinion, because I don't think there's any way he's getting 50% +1 of a closed GOP primary vote, some Democrat voters switching or not.

Smart. He wouldn't be able to raise the money, put together the organization, or have the chops to beat him.

He's done pretty good for himself. He has lasted MUCH longer than anyone thought he would. He's got a good gig going and he is now at the point where unless he does something stupid or gets old and out of touch with his voters, he has that seat for a long time . He probably would have called you crazy if 20 years ago you told him he would be a Congressman.

I'm more worried about a democrat taking the governorship next go round.

I don't see anyone on their bench who could win a statewide race, especially with the new LA Dem State Party leadership wanting more "true Democrats", aka leftists like Newsom, AOC.... someone like State Rep. Denise Marcelle, as the face of the LA Democrat Party.

No one of that mold is electable statewide in Louisiana.
