Church of England Priests Say Premarital, Gay Sex Not Immoral
A majority of priests of the Church of England want the church to offer same-sex weddings and allow premarital and gay sex, according to a major survey.
The survey, conducted by the Times, found most Anglican priests think church teaching should be brought into line with public opinion on moral issues.
Most priests support a change to allow gay couples to get married in church, with 53.4 percent in favor and 36.5 percent opposed, revealed the survey, which assessed responses from 1,200 active Anglican priests.
The Church of England currently allows blessings for gay couples but only permits church weddings between a man and a woman.
A significant majority of the priests surveyed (62.6 percent) said the church should change its teaching on the immorality of premarital sex, with 21.6 percent accepting all fornication and 41 percent saying sex outside marriage is fine for people in “committed relationships.”

Snakes. Hard to believe in religion when god doesn’t smite these evil bastards for encouraging this and diddling little kids.

It's really gay and immoral to have gay premarital sex.

I assume this is the remaining with England anglicans and not those that swam the Tiber a few years ago.
The bolded part shows that this is not a church blessed by God. Any church that flows with the changes of time isn't the one, true church.

Churches no longer teach the Bible
Churches have embraced sin

Tough spot to be in.
For better or worse society has accepted homosexuality. You can remain against it but be prepared for empty pew syndrome as fewer and fewer people share your opinion on the matter.

They have been given over to a reprobate mind and exchanged the Truth for a lie... This was foretold just as people will seek those that tell them what they want to hear rather than what is right...

God: “I created you and I created sex for your benefit, enjoyment and procreation within the confines of marriage between one man and one woman.”
Anglican Priests: “We reject your reality and would like to substitute one of our own because some of the people you created think they know better.”

CoE is galloping away from the core beliefs that sustained it for centuries.

Or, or, or... They can't come up with any reason to be against homosexuality outside of "God said so", and cannot maintain that position with blind faith.

Sidebar
Megachurch pastors who "lead" flocks to profit themselves - I understand this
Blue haired trans "pastors" of urban congregations who use the guise of a church as a platform to do full time radical woke advocacy - I understand this too
Anglican/Catholic Priests/Episcopalian clergy/etc. who spend their life in clerical education and leadership but at their core probably aren't Christians, go through the liturgical motions and hold only to the most watered down/banal tenets of the faith - I don't understand this at all
The third category is probably the biggest of the three, and it makes no sense to me at all.

Galloping away would be leading the charge decades ago. I think they're trying to hold out but are presented with accepting it and slowing the bleeding of their numbers or remaining against it and effectively cutting their wrists.

Then leave the church and seek your idea of religion elsewhere... Pretty much "God said so" is a big part of the basis of Christianity...

Christianity requires faith...

That's exactly what they're going to do.
CoE seems to be choosing to try and retain members instead planning to preach to an audience of 10.

Agreed. But humans tend to prefer rationality, hence religious decline as the human population is more educated.

Culturally, not necessarily in reality.
The message was always supposed to be individual and not collective.
The Anglican Church is merely symbolic at this point as most of their priests don't even believe in God.

Changing the teaching of the Church doesn't change the laws of God. Bending to the masses is hardly a sure way to uphold the morality of man.

No, it is not what they are doing... They are going ala-carte with their beliefs in order to conform to society...
The Church is not of this world and has been set apart from this world and should never attempt to conform to this world...
Many are doing this in the name of keeping people in pews but they are also leading those that continue to occupy those pews straight to hell...

They are certainly free to do as they wish, but as leaders of a Christian Church, "God said so" should be enough.

Is gay sex even technically sex?
(Funny a priest would give the ok to this though)
